This is coming as a huge surprise to me. I thought they wanted to be independent for their own reasons. I wonder what made them change their minds.

[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="KevinnButlerNPK"] How did Sony get better signeng the industry equivilent of an NFL punter?

Silverbond

Its okay, they're a great developer and will be a part of the already great FP, great news.

they are an okay dev that just released a 7.5 game

It was only 7.5 here many reviews put it at 8.5 and many gamers rate it a 9. Any way you look at it they make great games that sell and it was a smart buy. Having a high caliber dev making exclusives for your console is a good thing at least for ps owners.

Digital distribution is only good on the PC because of fierce competition between services that know their customers can buy from a competitor with just a couple of clicks if their deal is better. With a console you're stuck with the manufacturer's service. Nobody is going to spend hundreds on the competing console hardware just to save a few dollars on the games themselves, so pricing between them simply isn't competitive.

Digital distribution on consoles saves the publisher money but has no benefit for you whatsoever beyond the convenience of playing without a disc. You really don't want digital distribution to take off on consoles.

This is a smart man right here. Consoles are closed systems so I really don't need DD on console plus there is no space. Well maybe on ps3 you can get a 750 gig hard drive but you have to buy that. Till systems ship with 1tb hard drives minimum still won't be a good idea.

Sony seems to be making all the right moves I am happy I have a ps3. Sony gets it having great 1st party exclusives with good 3rd party support is the key to keeping gamers happy.

[QUOTE="ZombieKiller7"]1. Everyone praises Steam, but you know that you don't really own those games. If you can't sell it then you don't own it. If and when the servers go out, you can't play the games you supposedly own. Steam is like a virus. steviebhoy6sic6
this should be the only point worth giving a damn about i but some games off online services but with me it's single player only because i at least own that lol

This is not a issue for pc gamers as I never resold my games. Now that I can get steam games for much less than retail games it's is even better. On console I rarely sell my games unless they suck or are too short.

[QUOTE="Arbiterisl33t69"] Wow, really? What's with all the I GAVE UP ON THEM BECAUSE FOR ONE GEN THEY DIDN'T DO WHAT OTHERS DID AND TRY TO MIMIC THEM comments?Arbiterisl33t69

It is a history of NOA doing stupid things like the TC stated. On the cube nintendo said online gaming was a fad and refused to get with the times. On the wii nintendo said that HDTV was not the standard yet and passed on it. NINTENDO SEEMS TO BE A STEP LATE.

To be fair, HDTV WASN'T the standard yet. Sure, it didn't take until now to be standard, but back in 06? Family had our first HDTV in 2008, I got my own in 2010. Pretty soon it'll be 3DTVs, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo's consoles have 3D capabilites built in from the start, just not activated or something like that.

I had my 1st hdtv back in 2001 when the xbox was doing 720p and even some ps2 games. Also cable tv in NYC had a hdtv signal and the superbowl was also in HD. The FCC made no secret that digial hdtv was the future and was going to cut off the analog signal. Why the wii was not a HD console is beyond me.

I stopped supporting nintendo because IMO they are not up on the same level as Sony and MS. Sure I have a soft spot for some of their games as I was raised on the nes and snes. However nintendo is stuck in the past and the negatives of buying a nintendo console far out number the positives. You buy a nintendo console to play a couple of nintendo games and the rest of the time the console is a dust bunny. The online gaming is by far the worst in the industry and I am not a fan of motion gaming.

The 3rd party support has been a huge problem from the n64 days and seems to be getting worse not better going by the wii. Then as the TC mentioned the prices nintendo charges are very high on software and hardware. Project rainfall should never have happeded IMO America is the biggest gaming market by far. Making sure americans have games should be a no brainer. It is getting to the point I have lost all faith in the once digital gods I looked up to.

I bashed sony when the ps3 came out but unlike nintendo they have turned around and fixed the problems with that console. Basically nintendo needes new leadership. The been doing the same things for so long they got stale IMO. They seem to be hooked on gimmicks and lost focus on what matters giving gamers the best they can. They no seem to be giving gamers the least for the most money. I can't make excuses for nintendo any more and I never should have as I am not employed by them. I voted with my wallet and nintendo lost.

Welcome to System Wars.

sethman410

My favorite post of the day. **** too.

For sure the nintendo hate has been building due to nintendo of america making poor choices in the largest gaming market. This is a what have you done lately market and you can go from sugar to crap in short order. Right now the wii is in the crap catagory and so is the 3ds.

Yes I am but I play old games also. I like great graphics almost as much as great gameplay. I mod many old games to look better whenever possible.
