I am shocked that so many people think marrying your first cousin is ok...you have the same grandparents! I'm also always surprised at the amount of closed minded people who think homosexuals are second class citizens.
January is usually the only month out of the year that we in central Florida can expect any real cold weather. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's 80 degrees in January...but unfortunately that's not the case right now.
I got a sector 9 longboard for my birthday in November. There aren't a whole lot of huge hills here in central Florida, but there's still enough to have some fun. I haven't had any real injuries...yet.
It doesn't snow here in Orlando...but it's cold enough to snow for the first time since 2001. Considering people pull out the winter coats when it dips below 70, people are freaking out about the 29 degree low tonight.
fun. - Aim and Ignite My favorite album of the year. It single handedly got me into the indie-pop genre. The opening track "Be Calm" is an absolute masterpiece. I also have to single out "Walking the Dog" Every time I let a friend hear that track, they absolutely loved it. Polar Bear Club - Chasing Hamburg An outstanding Post Hardcore record. "Living Saints" is the standout track if you ask me. Rx Bandits - Mandala My first thought upon listening to this (as the band refers to it) "Groove Tech" album was "I need better speakers." There is so much going on within every song that your laptop speakers or iPod earbuds couldn't possibly do it justice. Signals Midwest - Burn the Blueprints An absolutely outstanding debut album by a young punk rocker from Cleveland, Ohio named Max Stern. I've been a fan of Mr Stern's work since his old Ska/Punk band The Skatastrophes. Now he's graduated to high energy punk rock with amazing and very personal lyrics. Listen to "The Curse Of Rocky Colavito" (and buy this one if you like it. These guys deserve all the help they can get) Bomb the Music Industry! - Scrambles Jeff Rosenstock's one man side project has evolved into a full band with real drums and everything! Scrambles is full of fast lyrics, lots of piano, and more obscure instruments than you probably even knew existed. All available for free (legally) from http://www.quoteunquoterecords.com/ The Avett Brothers - I and Love and You I had always heard good things about this group, but it wasn't until shortly after this album dropped that I finally decided to check them out. It's a bit less "bluegrassy" than their previous works, and I think that's what helped me get into it. A great gateway to an amazing band. State Radio - Let It Go Politically conscious lyrics, lots of rock, and some reggae. State Radio's third full length is what we've come to expect from this trio. Listen to "Held Up By The Wires" and "Still and Silent" Greenland Is Melting - Our Hearts Are Gold, Our Grass Is Blue Guitar bass, and Banjo have never sounded so good together. This trio from Gainesville, Florida plays Bluegrassy (I never thought I'd use that word twice in one post :P) folk-punk. Listen to "No More Sorry Songs"
My bedroom window, a large plant with pink flowers that is rapidly taking over the fence in my back yard, several trees, a small lake, and some guy pulling into his driveway on the other side of it.
