@The_Syzygy This is not an overpopulation issue. It's about the inherent effect that homosexual behavior has on a culture. If you can apply something as a benignity or a positive in one instance, it must be applicable to all instances. i.e. Everyone the world over should be able to live a homosexual lifestyle and not have a negative effect on society, but that is undeniably false.
@DethAngel Just because there's instances of homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom, that doesn't make it any less of a trend. creatures develop sexual fascinations with other creatures that may or may not be of their own sex--or even species for that matter (cross species copulation is seen in the animal kingdom a great deal as well). The point is that, because it has carved its own cultural niche in society, it is trending as a social phenomenon. Personally, I find that to be a negative development as homosexuality runs counter to anatomical correctness. As such, when applied to a larger scale, it causes and unarguably negative impact on society.
@DethAngel22 Heterosexuality isn't a social trend. It is, quite literally, the natural order of things. .....Or, hell. You could call it a trend if you liked. The most popular trend in the world really. But is this your way of saying homosexuality isn't a social trend? Or are you still just trolling.
@DethAngel22 Do you have an actual point to make with regard to homosexuality being a positive social trend or are you just here to call anyone who disagrees with you a "homophobe?"
@Smokescreen I haven't been--and won't--carry on a dialogue about the Bible. However, the New Testament does not negate the old one. I mean, are you really going to claim it's a dichotomy when a parent spanks a child one day and then praises them the next? The New Testament didn't contract anything from the old one. It openly changed some customs to correspond with the trends of civilization's development--as well as Christ giving humanity a chance to go to Heaven. But it certainly didn't argue with Leviticus.
@DethAngel "don't even try to judge someone when you could never understand their situation." As I pointed out a full page ago: The river runs both ways here. I could say that I feel my heterosexual behavior is developed just as easily as a homosexual claims he or she was "born" gay My claim is no less valid than a homosexual's.
@DethAngel22 "don't even try to judge someone when you could never understand their situation. " As I pointed out a full page ago, the river runs both ways here: I can assert that I feel I developed my behavior as a heterosexual individual just as much as someone else can say they were "born" homosexual. His or her assertion is no more valid than mine.
@Spahettificator I had a sibling who was a cutter. I kid you not, if she sliced herself often enough, she had EXTREMELY powerful orgasms. If I were to apply the principle of your point to her behavior, then by your own standards, she was well within the norm of her body's behavior. This all goes back to feelings having no substantive value as a argument: they're far too abstract to address the issue accurately.
@sammoth Norms need not be established by cultural standards. It's also anatomically relevant. If you have sexual contact with someone while completely ignoring the actual function of your genitalia, then you are deviating from your body's own nature. Thus, it is deviant behavior.
