@hippiesanta YEAH! IT'S GRAPHICS ARE SO BAD THAT IT SHOULD GET A LOW SCORE! *sarcasm*
Seriously why do people like you think that its visuals that make a great game? There's a difference between a game that looks legitimately bad (Hour of Victory using Unreal Engine 3, and it looks horrible).. and a game that uses an old school retro style and looks appealing (VVVVVV is an example, and in some instances, Super Meat Boy). Sure, it may look like something made a couple decades or more ago, but that's the charm of it. These days imo, retro is a visual style. Graphics have never made the game, just look at the newest Killzone. Fantastic looking game! But imo its gameplay is that of your run of the mill generic shooter, and is mostly just a tech demo. It's multiplayer is also what you'd expect from your everyday FPS.
I was pretty delighted to hear that PvZ2 was free. Although I DO think that all the pay to win crap defeats the purpose of any challenge the game may provide. Why the hell would I spend like 4 bucks to unlock a powerup that I can just get normally by playing? Just consider these would be paywalls as making the game more challenging. I mean its not as if the game is unplayable or impossible without these pay to win features.
I see your point... For me though, I've been playing since the first game, and I still enjoy the newer ones. Sure, they don't innovate much nowadays, but the games themselves are still very very solid. It's just the franchise becoming extremely mainstream that it fell into this. I'm quite sure they're afraid of change.
When the hell did Longer game = better game? It seems as if people weren't playing console games last generation because almost every single non RPG decent action game was between 5-10 hours on a normal playthrough. DMC? DMC3? Shadow Of the Colossus? Onimusha? Are people forgetting these games?
No, I asked YOU if you considered it bare bones, because KoF 13 is ANYTHING BUT bare bones, I own the game so I know. The fact that he gave that game an 8.5 may not mean he is bias Capcom fanboy. Did he say he hated Injustice? No right? He certainly didn't say it was bad. Another thing is that, even if it was true that he thinks Capcom fighting games are the best, isn't that his opinion anyways?
If a guy was experienced in many fighting games and gave certain fighting games certain scores, I would take his word for it if he said whether or not a fighting game is bad. Mcgee for example. You realize he has reviewed other fighting games not by Capcom, and has given them decent scores right? While I disagree with his Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds score, since barebones multiplayer wasn't the only thing wrong with that game, he like I said, has given other fighting games decent scores. Would you consider King of Fighters a barebones game with a lack of a roster? He gave that an 8.5.
Agreeing with someone else's comment ISN'T trolling man. The hell is wrong with you? The comment I first responded to, I agreed with all of it, MINUS the "You bunch of whining clowns". I don't think EVERYONE is whining. I just agree that sometimes a reviewer shouldn't be slandered just because you don't agree with the review. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If someone thinks this game is a 9, then fine, his/her opinion.
Dude that's not even trolling.... I don't think you comprehend what it means to troll. If I wanted to troll, I wouldn't be making arguments and opinions. To me, some are whining, some say the review is BS, and some say the review is good. That's all there is to it. There's no "trolling".
