look at the sensor bar through a digital camera or camera phone. Do lights show up at each end of the sensor bar? If not then the sensor bar is broken, or not plugged in or something.

If they do show up try re synching your remote. If that doesnt work unplug/replug the wii, that should work. If that doesnt work then your wiimote is probably broken.
