Sorry to hear the bad news. I can't even imagine how I myself would feel if my 40 gig crashed on me.
wth is up with consoles these days..I still got an old NES that works to this day.
I understand if its the "well they have become PC's more-or-less now" to an certain level, but the beauty of a PC that I have built breaking down is I usually know whats wrong, how to fix it, and that I can fix it myself.
Not knocking the PS3, I got a 40g and I LOVE IT..I just think its almost become "acceptable" to buy a system, while accepting the fact that when I take it home it may burn itself out.
Did the ones behind the design of these systems maybe try to put too much in them? Are they overpowered? It just boggles my mind to hear about all these consoles breaking down and having to be sent off..I'm not used to that. I heard the PS2 had problems, but I guess it just wasn't as publicized as this generation's consoles.

I don't know what's going on either. Apparently, it could be the possibility that too much was put into these consoles. Sony should keep a look out on the matter and see how they could fix the problem so it doesn't occur to the majority.
