Well said. People who ignored the Wii because of it being underpowered will have missed out on a bunch of great games. My heart bleeds for them.[QUOTE="arkephonic"]
The Wii is going to be remembered in a positive light amongst retro gamers 10 years from now, with classics like Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Muramasa Demon Blade, Skyward Sword, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Return to Dreamland, Punchout, Sin and Punishment, and tons of other lesser known titles. Those are the kinds of games that get recognized later down the line, the great games that people missed out on originally.
Bigboi500
Odd statement coming from someone who has missed out on a ton of great games based on his own superficial standards
Put out all lights and play it in your damp and gloomy basement
ChubbyGuy40
Just how damp does he think my basement gets, I wonder?
I think anyone with a brain saw this coming a mile away.
The entire handheld industry has just changed so much since the original DS launched. The PS Vita isn't competing with just the 3DS, but also smartphones, and tablets.
It's going to be a pretty tough battle getting the PS Vita to sell well. I imagine after the first week is over sales will drop pretty fast without any killer software on the horizon.
Aren't they always on the move? Also alot of internet around there? I'd say thats why. But I don't know much about Japan so it's probably inaccurate
OB-47
All you need to know about Japan is that all the people there look, and talk exactly like anime characters do, and Godzilla roams free from time to time
Ehh, it seems most people who buy their handhelds are satisfied with them. You know you want one
I expect a 3DS revision in Q4 2012, probably to counteract a Vita price drop in Q3 2012; Nintendo has been very aggressive with their strategy lately and they'll probably want to steal Vita's thunder (if it will have any) this holiday season.
As for whether handhelds are worth it:
Eponique
Well, I like handhelds. In fact I liked them way more this gen than any of the consoles. I bought both the DS and PSP at launch, but the difference was I actually had people to play them with when I got them (and also PC gaming didn't have the insane deals it does now, so my value of a dollar was quite different back then too)
I think once I tackle my backlog I'll probably be a bit more open to buying newer games/hardware. I'm so done going overboard on PC deals no matter how good they can be at times. I used to let them get the best of me, but not anymore! I'll still take great advantage of them, but only for very select games that I actually want
It's my plastic waifu
Eponique
Well hopefully it doesn't snap close on your member while you're goin poo poo
[QUOTE="SW__Troll"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] Yeah, but Ubisoft is extra doo-doo
jg4xchamp
I've always known Ubisoft to be the most inconsistent dev in the business.
I'm sure they'll be back up eventually, but after a few years of that they'll be back down again.
*looks at the new Rainbow Six* *looks at the new ghost recon* *looks at Far Cry 3* Actually...*remembers Far Cry 2* Yeah, but Ubisoft is like....extra doo-doo :PWell, maybe their upcoming releases will be big enough mistakes to make them realize they should develop something else, and they'll return to the era of an Ubisoft who makes games like Beyond Good & Evil, the original Splinter Cells, Rayman 2, XIII, and the original (not quite original) Prince of Persia trilogy
Yeah, it's probably best to wait for the holidays. I got my red 3DS in November with Super Mario 3D Land, Asphalt 3D, a starter kit, and a 3-year replacement plan for $230 (including Ontario's 13% sales tax). If I waited a month though I could've got all that but with a $50 gift card :x[QUOTE="SW__Troll"]
It is, but I tend to look at cost in comparison to what else I own, and the value I find in those other products.
I mean if I wanted a 3DS new it'd be $170 right off the bat. If I wanted a game that'd be another $30-$40. Sales tax would be another $15 or so... That's just pretty extreme amount to be paying to play one game.
Same goes for the Vita. By the time I get one game into a Vita I'd probably have spent $350......
You combine the price for both items, and two games and it's encroaching on the cost of my PC which is just nasty!!!!!!
That's why I want someone to give them to me for free. I just don't see enough games to justify to starting price just yet, so if I could just remove the starting price I'd be happy :)
Eponique
There's a few key things I'm waiting for
I really do want both handhelds, but at the moment I think half the reason I want them is because they're new, and shiny, so I'm doing everything I can to resist spending my hard-earned money.
[QUOTE="SW__Troll"]Isn't the 3DS $150 now? Where have you been :PI want someone to give me a free 3DS or free PS Vita.
That'd be glorious.
Why do they have to be so expensive?
