I prefer linear games more then open world games. Main reason is that linear games just feel a lot more story driven. Open world games tend to have a shallower story and are shorter in terms of main story. I don't feel like doing a lot of side quests/adventures that have little to do with the story adds to the game at all.
just because someones ps3 crashes while playing a game doesn't mean it was that games fault. Almost every game that sells a lot I hear rumors about it crashing systems. When more people own a game, there is a higher chance that someone who had a system crash will have it happen during that game. It is all about probability.
some TVs can control HDMI attached devices, maybe that is the problem?

1, the first wait. "...additional content, which Microsoft paid $50 million to be Xbox 360-exclusive for a limited time..."
2, the second wait. "Due to a last minute game submission request from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to edit some of the in-game Liberty City radio station, television, and internet content, we are forced to delay the worldwide release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for both PlayStation 3 and PC for an extra two weeks"
let's say you have a SLI board and one 5870 right now. One year from now, you decide you want more performance but want to go the cheapest, you now have the option to just get asecond 5870 and just crossfire them and get almost double the performance rather then replacing your card with a more expensive one.
square-enix obtained eidos almost a year ago and people are just now noticing?
if I know I'm not going to play a game again for a long time or ever again, I go ahead and delete the game in the "game data" folder. I still only use 20GB out of my 60GB because I constantly delete the old stuff.
if you don't plan to crossfire, then a 770 series motherboard would of been fine. 790x is designed for those who want to run 2 video cards.
