Sure thing Bigvee,

Yeah, like you mentioned, on my official save, I did get the crank without using magic. But when I went back and tried to replicate the same result, I couldn't, which led me to the conclusion that luck plays a role in killing the sirens. If three sirens weren't dead by the time the last skelly was thrown, then chances are I wouldn't have enough time to finish both of em. With the Zeus bolts though, I could simply kill two sirens and then just zap the other two to death. ZF really does work well, you should try it out again if you have time.. I read somewhere that sirens are particularly weak against it.

Now I went back and took a look at how shinobier did it and from what I can gather he put those plumes right where they needed to be and the sirens just didn't dodge. I'd love to ask him if he could duplicate that result over and over again or if the enemies were just particularly co operative that time.

Cheers,

Sam

(ps. I don't really have any other nicknames on this forum so Sam works well. Unless there's another Sam that I'm unaware of :p )

Thanks for the help liar.

The problems I found with the infinte air grab was actually getting them into the air. They dodge alot and they pelt you with their little bolts which force me to block. Also, whenever the 0 appears over their heads it breaks the rythm of the air grab which forces me to drop down and try to get em up in the air again. This is all fine normally, but I just don't have enough time to finish them off before the floor drops out. Also, air grabs take too long timewise to finish up completly.. the animation is too long. Orion's harpoon is a faster bet, but again... getting em up in the air is just too much of a hassle given the time constraint. Are you able to do it without magic consistently? If yes, I'd love to know how :)

With that in mind, I did pass it with no magic, but the only way I could do that is by making every skelly count. That is.. connecting with each throw. That way I can kill 3 sirens and only have one left to contend with by the end. It's alot riskier though and not as reliable as just using the Zeus Bolts. I tried using PR but it takes too much mana and is too dependant on having both sirens be closer together so it hits em both. Zeus Bolts kill em relatively fast (they seem to be more vulnerable to em), and doesn't take that much mana to pull off.

Cheers,

Sam

So now I know what a crack addict feels like.

I just spent 3 hours doing the crank room over and over again until I got it right. I'm no shinobier but officially, I got the crank without using any magic.... the downside.. it was mostly luck. I just got a few well placed throws with the skellies and the sirens didn't dodge too much.

The only way I could do it consistently was to kill the first two with some throws, and then use the Zeus bolts to kill the other two. The sirens just dance around way too much not to use magic.. did I mention how much I hate sirens :P In any event, I think the hades sacrifice room will probably be a hell of alot easier than this. I can kill sirens without magic if there's no time limit but in a situation like this... damn.

Oh well, considering we see kratos using a zeus bolt in a cut scene against ares, I don't feel too bad about using it here.

Cheers,

Sam

Thanks for the tip guys,

Question though, could you explain the R1 abuse tactic with artemis? From my understanding I hit em with r1 and then hit square or circle to quickly cancel the pause. Am I right?

Cheers,

Sam

Hey all,

I just found this place and after some errors, am finally able to post :p. I'm currently doing my first NUR+ (also trying to use no magic except on parts where it's required) run on g-d mode, and oddly enough, this is also my first time playing on g-d mode to boot. I started playing on spartan, cause frankly.. I might as well learn the ropes the hard way. I learned most of my strats from watching guys like shinobier and bigvee on youtube. I don't have as good control over the blade of artemis as I would like but I'm getting there.

So anyway, I'm up to the part with the shield of hades, and have realized that I hate gorgons..I really really hate em. I spent two hours perfecting the gorgon fight where you gotta deal with five of em at once after you deal with some weak undead. I passed it several times but my tactics were erratic and if I tried to play that area again, I would get killed. Being a bit of a perfectionist I kept doing it over and over until I could pass it with consistency. They're soo bloody dodgy that one mistake and your dead. At least with sirens you can take some hits but not with gorgons. Anyway I finally figured out that if I knock em down with the plume, and quickly follow up with a triangle attack I can knock em up into the air with relative safety and just death bounce em. After that passing the area was relatively easy.

I also had a bit of trouble on the rope getting to the hades shield but eventually figured that part out. I just spent some time killing the skellies behind me to keep em from getting too close. Funny thing is.. when I finally got to the shield of hades I did that part on my first try. Collision damange is sweeet :D.

Now I'm just dreading the crank room with the sirens, and the sacrifice with the centaurs. Oh well :p.

I'll keep things posted as I go along.

Cheers,

Sam

Hey All,

I'm currently doing my first NUR run on god mode, but I'm totally stuck on the part where I have to kill the group of sirens before I can summon the Titan with the temple on his back.

They're so damn dodgy and keep pelting me with their attacks. I try to get em up into the air but it fails more often than not cause they keep moving away so much.

Does anyone have any strats for getting through this part?

Thank,

Sam

[[ Note: Nevermind, I figured it out on my own. Lots of dodging, lots of weaving, well timed blocks and a bit of luck. Damn hags are more annoying than the clones....no.. not really :p ]]
