after reading all four pages of posts i think its absolutely hilarious that people find halo overrated. its as if people dont want to like whatever is the best at what it does. for example, people rooted for the giants in the super bowl just because they didnt want to see the patriots win yet again. in all reality halo is the definitive fps. it is the doom of this decade. remember how doom introduced us to fps's when it first came out and really layed down the blueprints for all other shooters. well, halo is the new doom. other shooters want to be like halo and still to this day nobody has topped that series. call of duty, while a good game, is the giants in this previous year and halo is the patriots, we know how that turned out, but you cannot deny that halo is a great game. there is no way you can say it is overrated because it does everything right. i own a ps3 and a 360 and currently im playing ninja gaiden 2 and metal gear solid 4 and my systems sit right next to one another so i assure you im not a fanboy of either, but you cannot name a flaw that halo has because it has none, it has taken what originally amazed people, halo 1, and completely refined the genre into what it is today, halo 3.

sony however doesnt need a halo, it needs final fantasy to come out, it needs kingdom hearts, and it needs god of war, all of which will be released sooner or later. metal gear solid 4 showed how big of a hit it was and the afforementioned three games will be just as strong. microsoft has 2 juggernauts, halo and gears, along with a slew of smaller heavy hitters, but playstation has a lineup that goes from the past 10 years to today and i assure you they will utilize all their past big guns before the war is over. so no, ps3 doesnt need a halo because they have plenty of other games to bring in console sales. Resistance is a very competent shooter and is the closest thing playstation will get to a halo, but yet again it is merely mimicing what halo has already done. Im off to play metal gear solid 4 lol.

Look, some people love Halo 3, and some people hate Halo 3, and you can't make claims to whether it is overrate, definitive, does everything right etc, as if it were fact. You're effectively trying to over rule everyone else's opinion.

In my opinion, Halo 3 is a solid game, that has good gameplay, solid online, but a fairly weak story. I'm not biased or a fanboy in anyway, I know Halo 3 is a good game, but I believe there have been greater shooters this gen. And to be honest, Halo 3 could NEVER have lived up to the hype, no game could of.

Looking at my collection, Halo 3 is probably the worst 360 game I own.

Yeah, I never listen to anything but the game music when on the 360, doubt I will start now. Devs pay thousands of pounds for music composers and what have you, so they know exactly what you should be listening to while in the game. Plus I have a computer with thousands of songs on which is far easier to use, right beised my TV.

As for SSX4, I'm completely with you, I love the SSX series! Shame there hasn't been any mention of if what so ever, maybe E3? hmm.

What happens if you're half way through a game when it's released, and complete it from then on?

I guess it depends on what you need to do to achieve each trophy, but what about game completion trophies?

In my opinion, Resistance is the best FPS ever and for the same reasons. Opinions are subjective, and none are right or wrong. Anyone could make the same argument for any other game they like, and you couldn't argue against them because they like everything the way that their favorite game does it. That's why this is so pointless.

Don't be so niave, if you ask every 360 owner, a majority will tell you Halo 3 is overrated, that includes myself.

'Best online', look, as much as you believe it is, it doesn't mean it is a fact, the online was fun, but I've experienced much better online, and trust me, near enough every gamer would agree.

'Endless possibilities online', this sounds more like advertisement slur then a fact, seriously.

'Good lengh sing player - took me 10 hours', ok, an average lengh game, doesn't make it any better then any other.

'Best ranking system', I agree it is good, but even Call of Duty 4 has a better system.

'Amazing character models', another opinion, amazing to you can be horrid to someone else. The character models were good, but not amazing in my OPINION.

'Amazing textures', amazing? The textures were average, infact Halo 3's graphics are nothing special.

'Great sound', an opinion, claiming something is 'great', is not a fact.

Every company losses money in making a console, but they have well made up for it. And what kind of a question is that? There is no doubt in my mind there will be a Playstation 12 so long as Sony stays a well profited company. Same with 360. There will undoubtedly be a xbox ____ snwboardn08

After all this, you returned the game/essential collection? Have fun figuring out what the hell MGS4 is all about, it's not half the game it is without the other three. I would re-buy it if I were you, you're missing out.

Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga. It's good fun, nice change of pace.

It will be Guitar Hero 3 next week, when it gets delivered.
