Ive got all three consoles man.

The 360 ive had for 3 years, (2 360's actually, 1 RRoD'd). I absolutely love it.
I just got a PS3, it seems pretty amazing so far.
I bought a Wii when super smash bro's came out for it. Worst console ive ever owned by far. The only decent game I played on it was SMG. It absolutely blows.

This was suppose to be the RPGs to end all RPGs with a great story, huge exploration, stragetic combat, and awesome freedom of choice. What did we get? A derived, unoriginal story, one big city and a whole lot of unimportant landscapes, combat that didn't know if it was RPG or shooter, and lame moral choices, with a dialog tree that was, at times, literally an illusion.

jwsoul

Cosign except that I did like the story a lot.

Agreed im really not a fan of Mass Effect, coming from a guy who plays NWN2, FF, BG, and variouse other high quality RPGS this game falls flat on its arse.

Mass Effect is WAY better than NWN2. That game was absolutely horrible. ME is a solid game.

Hmmm I just bought a PS3 after playing 360 for about 3 years.... I have to admit the 360 controller is much better in my opinion. Not a big fan of the DS. But this looks like some 3rd party trash controller that would last a few months at best.

Let me start this off by saying ive owned a 360 for around 3 years now. Well.. actually two 360's. I bought a newer one after my first died from RRoD, hoping that a newer model wouldn't be as likely to break on me, and so far it hasnt. Aside from the RRoD nightmare, ive been very pleased with it. But lately ive been busting out my old PS2 and playing some of the games that came out years ago on it. And after a few weeks of that I began to feel I needed a PS3. So here's a little bit about what I think of the PS3 so far. Just the console itself, not the games (VC and MGS are both amazing btw). Again ive only owned it for a little over 24 hours, so I haven't gotten fully adjusted to it.

So yesterday around 2pm I bought my first PS3. I also bought Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4 to go along with it. A buddy also borrowed me U:DF, which ive played a few times before.

The console itself is nice, a little big, but I guess if you think about it the 360 probably takes up about the same ammount of space when you include the power brick. It's also very quiet, which is a nice change from my 360.

The controller is... eh.. alright. It hasn't changed much at all from the dualshock, except for the triggers have slightly changed, and there's extra button in the center. After playing with it for awhile I couldn't help but to feel like it was a big downgrade from my 360 controller. It's smaller, which some people with smaller hands might find nice I suppose, but not me. The D-pad is about the only thing I can think of that's an improvment over the 360 controller. The ABXY buttons, the joysticks, and especially the triggers are much better on the 360 controller. All in all it just doesnt seem to have the kind of quality or comfort in it that the 360 controller does. This is all just my opinion though of course. There is no REAL problem with the PS3 controller, and at the end of the day it does its job well enough. I just prefer the 360 controller, quite a bit more. Being able to recharge it while im off doing other stuff is nice though.

The main screen of the PS3 is a little bland. I went into the themes section and found one other theme they had started me out with that was a little more colorful and exciting. I later found out you can get some free themes using the playstation store. So if you don't like either of the two they start you out with with, theres probably one there for you. I tinkerd around with the menu's and options for awhile. It seemed a little jumbled and all over the place compared to the 360 dashboard (The new one that came out not too long ago with the update that allowed you to install games. The old one was pretty crowded and all over the place itself). There's alot of options that I found quite useless, but if your one of those people who put's videos and pictures and all that kind of stuff on your console im sure theyd come in handy. The trophy system is pretty weak when compared to the achievment system, but that's not really going to be a big problem for most people. So.. anyway, again, I found myself wishing that it was a little more like my 360.

The Blueray is nice. Although I havent really noticed anything different about it, probably beacuse I havent watched any movies on it yet. I like that the game's slide right out of the PS3 rather than being ejected out on the little tray thing the 360 has. Also if a big game comes out that would need multiple dvd's (Lost Odyssey for 360, has like what, 5 disks?), Ill only need to worry about one BR disk. Which probably isnt a huge deal. But I like it.

Well that's about all I can think of for right now. The PS3's free internet is nice, although it didnt seem as proffesional as XBL. I don't use XBL anyway so it doesnt really matter to me. Also, buying the HDMI cable seemed a little goofy too me. Shouldn't that be included with the PS3 if you're going to advertise it as a HD console?

Anyways that's it. My thought's about the PS3 after 24 hours. It has it's pro's and it's cons. Once in awhile il find myself wishing it was a little more like the 360. But than again.. it's only been 24 hour's, maybe I just need a little more time? Anywho they both are great consoles. And I plan to pack my 360 up for awhile and tryn to get use to my PS3. Well see how it goes I guess.

By the way.. VC is a great game! and if you can look past the goofy anime ****and dialogue there's some deep, solid gameplay beneath.

Gears looks amazing. Anyone who tells you different is just a jelous fanboy.
There are better looking games. But Gears is still up there, way up there. Anyway, Does the average game need to look better than gears? No. I think people are forgeting what makes games great. The story and most importantly the game play. You can pop in an old game from 10 years ago and still have a blast with it. Graphics arent everything. And im sure that most people, even the howling fanboys know that.

Although the good graphics never hurt either..
