@torrne667 Not that I'm going to be buying one but If I were I would be prepared to pay a third more In the UK. Its typically pound per dollar which Is a rip off Britain standard.
I put the 128gb In mine, only use It for OS etc. 256gb Is fine If you don't have many games but I do. I use the supplied 750gb drive for games In mine. I won't be using SSD's for games until the price of the larger capacity drives becomes much cheaper.
@Devils-DIVISION I got a Samsung 830 128gb for my OS & other applications. It was a good price & very easy Install, It also comes with Its own SSD magician software & Norton Ghost but personally I would just reinstall the OS on to It rather than using Ghost to avoid problems. I was going to go with the OCZ Vertex 4 but many people have had grief with It so I went with the Samsung which had great user feedback. Good choice, had no problems with It.
As for the Interposer, yes Its needed for connection. The laptop connectors are facing up & the drive connector Is sideways so the Interposer Is L shaped In that sense. You simply connect one end to the drive then the other to the laptop. Make sure to check for It, It may have not been Included. Many people on the Dell forums are pissed off about It. Any problems let me know & feel free to pm me your Steam gamer tag.
@Devils-DIVISION I'm typing this on an m17xr4, bought It brand new about a month ago, I also have a top end Acer & good custom built gaming rig.
The m17 looks great & I'm enjoying using It for work & a little bit of gaming. Yes, they are overpriced but I always wanted one so I chose my components & spent 2k UK. I recommend buying an ssd for your second drive because the m17 can hold 2 drives. Make sure that you open It up & check for an Interposer In the second drive caddy because Dell are tight & try to shaft people by not Including them. I made them send me one out for the next day at their cost.
Enjoy your well earned m17, If you need any more details about the Interposer shoot me a message.
I'm still on the 3gs too. I stopped paying for a contract two years ago, I pay 10 or 15 pounds a month depending on what I require & Its more than enough.
Apple & the service providers are ripping people big time.
