Turning Point and Club Demos

I recently downloaded the Turning Point and Club demos. I played Turning Point first and i was really excited about playing it. Well the game has a good idea, but according to the demo, doesnt quite deliver for me. The graphics aren't very good, especially the explosions. When you walk you kinda feel like you're floating and I wonder if 3rd person would have been better. The sound is OK, but it didnt pull me in and it wasn't as intense as it could be. The hit detection for me was a little off. I don't know if my guy can't shoot or if the German's are resistant to headshots because my crosshairs were right in the middle of his head and nothing happened. Also, when you do kill and guy, there body falls to the ground as if it's falling through jello. If you play the demo, you'll know what I mean and I just think it's a bit over the top. One last thing. the demo is SHORT! Just when it started getting a little exciting, it ends. I probably killed a total of about 10 guys, without trying very hard at all. I was on the highest difficulty. I think the game has potential, but it could just be one of those games people leave on the shelves and forget.

The Club on the other hand, was a lot more exciting. I was a little slow at first getting used to the controls and the pace of the game. You're pretty much moving the whole time in this game, and there's pickups all along the way which is what I really liked, so you never really are gonna run out of ammo or have to stop at all. I got used to the controls. and I really started getting into it. While the single player was fun, I think this game will shine with its multiplayer. I can already picture the chaos and I think it would sell a lot because of online multiplayer. I don't think I'll buy this game, but I'll definitely rent it.

I actually think the Fifa Street 3 demo was better than both of them. It's really exciting and easy to just pick up and play.

Super Mario Galaxy starting to live up to it's hype.

I got a Wii for Christmas and my dad only bought me Super Mario Galaxy beause he didn't know what else I would like. I bought Resident Evil 4 later. But I've been playing Mario and when I first started playing it, it was the time I'd ever played a Wii. It was really cool, but I just wasn't blown away by it. It seemed like the levels were kind of short. As I got used to the Wii controls, and got further on in the game, I realized how cool this game actually was. A lot of these levels are just crazy and wacky and just have a really good use of the Wii remote. I can understand why this game got Game of the Year, the Wii needed a good solid Wii game that appealed to everybody and this was it.

Got A Wii

So as soon as I'm done with opening my presents, my dad takes me downstairs and into my media room. He turns on the big screna and what do I see? I see a little character with little balls for hands and under this strange creature is the word Wii. I was so surprised. Apparently my mom got to Best Buy at the right time so I'm really excited about playing it. My dad only bought Super Mario Galaxy so far. I already boxed my brother. It was awesome.

The Return of the Sarge (How lame was that?)

Been a while since I've written a blog so I'll write a couple things that have been happening lately.

I noticed that after about a week, my Gamespot account was still on level 11 at the same exact percent. i didn't think much of it unitl the next day i was at level 2, and then a few hours later at level 6. I don't know what happened but when I woke up the next day, it was back to 11 with a higher percent so i assume it's back to normal.

I've reached level 56 on Rock Band, drumming on score duel. i was on a roll until I lost to a good drummer on Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld. I hate that song with a passion it's so stupid. I'm sure they put it in as a joke but it doesn't deserve to be in there. I played it on hard and it's just annoying, and repetitive.

Six, almost five days until Christmas. I get off school Friday and come back two weeks later. I think we could all use a break every now and then. The four things I really want are a new MP3 Player, electric guitar, Call of Duty 4, and Mass Effect. I hope I get all those it would be awesome.

that's all I have to say now. It's too much to remember to write a daily blog sometimes, so I'll just write when I can.

Ranked #90 In The World!

After a lot of wins and a lot of losses, I am now ranked #90 on drum score duel on Rock Band. Once you get this high, when you lose you go down by at least 10 almost every time. I'm only 10 skill points away from the first place guy who has 40. So I'm gonna keep at it but probably won't play it as much as I've been playing it. It's gotten kind of old.

Where Is The Competition

Lately I haven't been able to find anybody to play ranked drum score duel on hard, so tonight I decided to switch to medium. After about only 15 songs I moved from ranked 580 to 184. I'm gonna break 100 in no time if I keep it up.

Rock Band Review

Since I'm always talking about Rock Band, I figured I'd post my review in a blog so people can maybe share my liking for the game.

Rock Band is a game unlike any other. Some say it's just Guitar Hero with a few added instruments. Well the few added instruments make Rock Band so exciting. The Mic is basically what you would expect. You sing into it and basically it measures your pitch and timing and scores you based on close you sang to the song. The higher difficulties are just stricter and have a smaller pitch range. The drums are the most exciting part of the game. They are the most original part of the game and they are really fun for all levels of players. The easy and medium songs are great for new players and non-drummers. But the expert songs....some of them are nearly impossible. It's just a really great and unique experience. The guitar and bass are fun, not nearly as hard as GH overall but still fun to play. The extra set of buttons and the highlighted solos are really fun and the new look of the notes just make it look like a polished game. The best part of Rock Bnad is playing online in a four person band. It's just really fun to see all the parts playing as one band especially if they're all good. I usually play guitar while my brother drums and it's just really fun. The songs are mostly good.. My favorite songs to sing are Say It Ain't So by Weezer, Creep by Radiohead, and Foreplay/Long Time by Boston. I've only sang a couple. My favorite guitar songs are Green Grass and High Tides, Say It Ain't So, Maps, and Don't Fear The Reaper. My favorite drum songs are Won't Get Fooled Again, Foreplay/Long Time, Don't Fear The Reaper, and Wave of Mutilation. These aren't the best songs on the game, I was just naming a few that I really like to play. However, every game has a downside. The downside for Rock Band is the instrument quality. There are a lot of complaints about drum pedals breaking which isn't good. My drum pedal is still in good shape but my guitar actually stopped working after a couple weeks. It will no longer down-strum. But this happened conveniently right when EA came out with the warranty saying they would replace broken guitars or drum pedals for free. I got the new guitar yesterday and it works fine and it feels much better. Overall, Rock Band is just a great, fun, pick-up-and-play game with awesome gameplay!

9.5 Freakin Awesome

Sarge's Random rants (8) Movin On Up

I just played my first two drum score duels on Rock Band and won them both. I'm now in the top 1000 drummers for score duel with my trueskill at 12. Hopefully my streak continues and I keep moving up.
