you can't use microsoft points to buy it? like i know for games on demand you have to press "x" (i think) and the dollar amount will turn to ms points amount

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but here goes: I bought the Gears of War 3 Xbox console 2 weeks ago and they are letting me continue my Gold membership for 1$. The problem isn't the money but how can I pay for it? My parents credit cards don't pay for 1$ things according to them and I have no idea on how to use Paypal. Any suggestions?
