The game that just put me over the edge however now is the new Prince of Persia. Its even worse than bioshock because you literally CAN NOT DIE. Seriously its worse than bioshock.
If you fall off a cliff ur right back where u started. If the enemy "kills" you it just plays a movie of your female partner saving you and ur right back with boss with the same health and everything.
Why couldnt they just make a movie instead if all they wanna do is put in a story which by the way really sucked from the first 30 minutes of the game.
I'n not trying to say games should go back to the NES days when games were hard or impossible, but I feel there is a HUGE problem when my 6 yr old nephew is able to play games without too much problem.
The way I feel about games now is that the developers are treating me like im a complete moron. They are making the games to be more like movies or stories than actual games. I like a damn good story but damn i dont like being treated like im an 80 year old that never touched a game or a baby.
Sure in bioshock you have all these skills and tactics you can use but what the hell is the point you come right back to life where u just started. You can beat the entire game with just the wrench. The atmosphere in bioshock was GONE cuz i had nothing to be afraid of so i did not enjoy the game.
Ive been playing games since i was 5 and I am 23 now. Im starting to lose alot of interest in alot of games and I think i know why.
The gameplay in 90 percent of games nowadays is just complete crap. I just started playing prince of persia for 360 and I couldnt take it after 30 minutes. The entire game is just so damn stupid. Seriously my nephew who is 6 years old having no problems with the difficulty cuz there is NONE. He is like 4 hours into the game. You dont die no matter what. Seriously even if u get "killed" you come right back and the boss or enemy has the same health. The combat is simple button pressing to get simple combos that are really just actual movies.
Fable 2 has absolutely no difficutly at all same with almost exactly the same issues. Bioshock is the same way. I could probably name a bunch of other disappointments that I just wont bother mentioning. But these days when i play a game I feel like im being treated like a baby there is no diffuiculty or punishments in games anymore. I think there is a REALLY big problem when many TOP and "mature" games can be played by 6 year olds. Am I really the only who feels this way? I honestly dont feel like im playing games anymore but instead interactive movies..... most with bad stories too.
The gaming industry to me has taken a turn for the worst. Kinda like hollywood with all flair and no substance in movies. and aiming at nothing but casuals.
I've had a 360 since it first came out and Ive played just about every noteable game that has came out for it. Something about these games just doesnt feel right to me but i cant explain it.
The PS3 doesnt seem too much different either.
Im 22 now and I've been a big fan of Nintendo since I was a kid. I dont have a Wii now but sometimes I want to get one but I've invested so much in all these "next-gen" games I dont know if Ishould take a risk with nintendo!
I admit though that when i watch videos of games like super mario galaxy and paper mario and SSBM it brings me a bit of joy.
Does anyone feel the same way? Should I give nintendo a chance they've never let me down on any system since the SNES. I miss my nintendo =(.
So I've been playing Company of Heroes online for like the past 3 months and I am still loving it. The game just looks and sounds amazing and I feel that there is so much strategy involved.
But today I just started playing Command and Conquer 3 that i borrowed from a friend for a bit and I just couldnt really stand the game. It felt generic even with those nice fancy shmancy cut-scenes and I really could not get into it.
I mean i first got into RTS games with Command and Conquer games but now it just feels dull. Does anyone else feel the same way I do? If not with CoH but at least with other RTS games.
I havent played games for the PC much since my starcraft/counterstrike days. I got a HP Dual Core 4600 P+ PC with 2 gigs of DDR 2 ram with Vista. My only disappointment was an onboard video card but I changed to a GeForce 7300 GT with 512mb of Ram.
The video card aint great though i know but it seems to play HL2 on high prety damn well. Anyways what good games are there out now? I bought half life 2 but im kinda disappointed with the mods on it so anyone have any suggestions or does my video card suck so bad that I cant play nifty games these days anymore?
