All the advice in the world boils down to this really: If he's really your friend, then you'll accept this about him. If you can't accept it, then maybe you aren't really that good of friends and it is time to move on. Lol, it's not about me being a friend though it's about him getting tortured by local thugs and his parents disowning him!

If he doesn't want his parents or anyone else to know, then you should be willing to accept that and let him talk with his parents when HE is ready.
