I grudgingly use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family, but they get the bare minimum of personal information from me. There's no way I'm going to buy a piece of hardware with Zuckerburg's mentality behind it.
I was going to ask if it has to do with some kind of haughty Japanese attitude towards the rest of the world.. then I remembered Sony is a Japanese company. I wonder how they're able to do so well, while Nintendo just seems stuck in the past.
Nintendo should stick to handhelds. That's what they're good at these days. They make games that appeal to kids, and kids are the most likely to want a handheld.
Was Mario a good example for games in a time when there wasn't a lot of good games? Yes. Do you have to have played Mario to be a good creator? No, obviously not.
