[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"][QUOTE="SchoolThing"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] SC2, 90% of south korea will buy it day 1 :P WoW is far more popular than halo 3 as well as FPS go MW/MW2 are way more popular but the PC shooter market is more spread out than console, even the more generic games get a player-base to stay there

SC2? Lol, that game will not come close to selling like Halo. If it's lucky it can rack up 1.5 million in maximum sales in its first week.

first week is great and all but in the long run it means nothing. lifetime is what counts, and SC2 will win those sales

StarCraft 2 will not win anything, and here's why: 1) Strategy games aren't that popular anymore. There are A LOT more games on the market today and first-person shooters is the hottest brand - strategy games aren't attractive to gamers' wallets and SC2 won't change it. 2) There are more strategy giants to rival it, it's not alone, like it was in 98'.

Ok, that's great, but how many of those are going to steal Halo 3's thunder?

None.

who cares? thunder is overrated anyway, its all flash no power Lightning is where its at, that can kill ya and baby, Starcraft is the lighting see, theres the lighting

Stop bragging about SC2, please. No one will care about it 2 months after release.

[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"][QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"]ah but halo 3 is only 2 years old to be a fair comparison we have to wait untill halo 3 is 10 years old and compare them to Starcraft's numbers today

Hardly a fair comparison.

Have you chosen 1 game that can dethrone the popularity of Halo 3 yet?

That wouldn't be fair since Bungie doesn't wait 11 years until they release a sequel, like Blizzard, M'kay?

so your saying if they just stopped at halo 3 and never made a sequal its numbers would be better than starcrafts after 10 years? come on now, you know that's not true your just lying to yourself

Yeah, if they released expansions and updated it and so and held tournmanets and made it a big name... why not? It's not easy to top StarCraft numbers, and obviously you don't know how big Halo is. :D I remember reading an analyst's opinion on StarCraft 2 sales, he said it would sell 4 million in 3 months, I was very unimpressed and thjought it could do better.

[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"][QUOTE="SchoolThing"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] over a whole day? not sure i see it over 100k during prime time hours and right now there are about 16k people online considering this is a 10 year old game i think it has longevity far beyond the average game and this speaks mountains about its quality

CS tops it. Easily. No game is more famous worldwide than CS, Mario or GTA.

so which game is the national sport of a country? not css, mario, or gta...

So? You name one country, is that all? Go to relatively poor countries, anywhere you want. They'll know GTA, Mario, they'll know CS. Ask them about StarCraft, they'll say "lol..?" I swear.

So the over 600k people that have played Halo 3 in the past 24 hours isn't as significant? I dunno, my friend. Opinions are subjective; numbers don't lie.

[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"][QUOTE="SchoolThing"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] CS1.6, maybe not music but everything else and also: 'quality' is very much outdone by both games. quality isnt all about graphics there are way more things involved in quality

How many players does StarCttaft have on a daily basis?

[QUOTE="SchoolThing"]

1) The StarCraft soundtrack is APPALLING.Opinion, i think it has an amaizing soundtrack that is atleast as good as halo

2) 1 million don't play Diablo 2 on a daily basis. Not anymore, but its been out for 10 years. in 10 years H3 wont be close to D2's numbers today (H3 will be at 0 at that point btw)

3) Half-Life 2 didn't sell over 3 million in 24 hours. PC games don't need all their sales in the first 24 hours they continue to sell for years after release they generally arent forgotten in a few months for the next big thing being released

StarCraft is rock music, which is incredibly annoying when playing a strategy game. Also, how many Diablo 2 players are there? Not many, I guess. I also don't expect Diablo 3 to top more than 1.5 - 2 million in its first month, which of course is very shallow compared to Halo 2/Halo 3.

[QUOTE="Giancar"][QUOTE="SchoolThing"][QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] Quality: Done, crysis, tf2, and many other games are of higher quality Music: Done Halflife has always had better music Plot: Done Half-life had a better plot before halo game out Multiplayer: Done TF2, L4D, (some will say MW) Longevity: Never had it CS 1.6 was out way first but has lasted just as long and will continue long after halo is forgotten Sales: don't matter

LMAO @ Halo forgotten. Halo will NEVER be forgotten, it is the definining FPS icon for consoles, where FPSs are hottest!

FPS hotter in consoles? now you lost it all

If you're ttrying to say that first-person shooters are more popular on PC, you're trolling and I won't be responding to you anymore. Wait, one last thing, I guess then you're one of them that thinks that Modern warfare 2 on PC will outsell 360 version? liololololololololllll
