For me when I think of sequels I think of the plot changing/continuing and gameplay improving and adding new features. Its like when it came to the plot Nintendo just copy and pasted it from the 1st nothing changed other then taking out characters like Rosalie. I would have liked Mario having to save the universe this time instead of Peach. Maybe make it more opened world like Sunshine.[QUOTE="SerenityBeee"][QUOTE="ActicEdge"]
I don't see how it wasn't a sequel. It was the same format with more content, new levels, improved visuals music level layout etc. I know people think SMG1.5 is cute because the game was similar to the first but it realistically was about as sequel as you are going to get. Luigi was in SMG1. And again, some maps would not be SMG2, it would be like a few extra level, the game is a full blown adventure, the prospect of it being DLC is silly.

There were new features, hence the new suits, and gadgets, change to hub etc etc. the control of Mario stayed the same but that doesn't stop it from being a sequel. and really, story in Mario is basically not relevant, we all know this.
Still they could try something different then saving Peach and collecting stars. For me the keeping the story fresh is about as important as the gameplay. Saving Peach has been come repetitive and just not something I want to do anymore. Something I love about Paper Mario and Sunshine is they try and change it up. Sunshine your cleaning up this paint stuff in the town. And Paper Mario also changes things up. I persoanlly would give both Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door and Super Mario Sunshine a higher score then Super Mario Galaxy 2.
