I like having a physical game to hold. Plus I don't like the idea of limited HDD space dictating how many games I can get. PC games are doing fine with brick and mortar stores. Maybe by gen 9 games will be digital only due to tons of cheap memory.
@Kenshin0011 I'm not saying Mobile apps are important to me. I'm just saying that its a possibility. I really don't care about the whole Multi or not argument. I was just playing devil's advocate.
@mike9876543210 @aniforprez Mike new term for you. Rumorware. Its always optimistic and claims to be out of this world. Aniforprez He couldn't confirm any of what he said. He just assuming. All we know is that IBM is making it and per wikipedia
"Neither nintendo nor IBM has released detailed specifications. Such as number of cores, clock rates or cache size. references to the chip containing "a lot" of eDram"
What the heck is "a lot"? Why these games if you have the biggest boy on the block don't hide it. Unless your trying to make everybody believe its Mike Tyson the tarp and it turns out to be Pee Wee Herman.
@Trickymaster I tend to agree with you on that assumption. Why not just blow PS3 and Xbox 360 out of the water with incredible specs. Mostly Nintendo does as little as possible when it comes to upgrades.
@aniforprez That's an interesting link. However that guy is just guessing. I remember a ploy Nintendo used to do called Vaporware. They would announce new tech and it would never come about. Like the Super Nintendo CD drive. What this does is make buyers hold off on purchases to see if the new thing is better. Until I get Official Specs any talk of better than PS3 and Xbox 360 are Vaporware talk.
@endorbr I agree that Nintendo's First Party games are its biggest selling point. However I also would like to see new characters. How about Peach and Mario get Married and introduce their kids in new games. Create new platform characters. In the 70's Nintendo came out with Mario, Donkey Kong, and Metroid. Its 2012 its time for new IP.
@yomonkey I would say the advantage is another way to input information. if you can design your own plays for madden like a real coach using X and O on that screen that might be a good selling point.
What really annoys me about all of this is Nintendo refusal to release the Wii U specs. How can I judge how much better the Wii U is without specs. I mean if its leaps and bounds over the current competition or is it just a slight edge.
Everybody says that the Mobile Gaming market is where handheld are heading. With Multi Touch Wii U would be the only Console to get you the same Mobile app game experience. The Wii suffered from non 3rd developer support. But with Mobile developers giving the Wii U exclusive games that can't be played the same on Xbox or Playstation 3. The Wii U might have a chance. If that were to happen I'm sure that PS3 would use the Vita as a controller for such games. But still Wii U would come with the controller in one box and not need to buy a separate accessory.
