Heres the thing. 90% of PS3 games map the trigger to R1 so whats the point.?... Real triggers for zooming in and throwing grenades seems stupid.YoungSinatra25
I haven't beaten the game yet. I'm only about 6 hours in. I've played, loved, and beaten MGS 1, 2, and 3. But playing Metal Gear Solid 4, I'm wondering how this game got a 10. The gameplay hasn't evolved since MGS2 and the game itself even seems to have less mechanics than Metal Gear Solid 3. And this game is filled with dozens of stupid little tidbits that make me cringe. For example, when Otacon shows up in that "cutesy" 1-ft tall Mk2 robot in the beginning, he pulls out a bunch of weapons and gear out of thin air. Couldn't they have at least tried? The graphics are pretty weak too. The framerate is very shaky and the textures on the environment are disgustingly low resolution. How did this game win best graphics of the year?
Does the game get much better towards the end? I'm having fun but it's nothing special so far.

First let me say I agree with you on not deserving a 10 and that I loved all the other MGS games and this one too. I think it should have been a 9 - 9.5. But you're wrong when you say gameplay hasn't eveolved since 2. They added the camo in 3 and then revamped it in 4. And they added the ability to walk around while aiming and shooting which you couldn't do prreviously. Which helped take the game away from its stealthy roots because it became so much fun and easier to run and gun. And I also think the graphics were really good. But that's oppinion.
Yeha the disc is perfectly fine for me. And people complain about the selection but I think its ok. I get 2 discs a week through mail and use the streaming to supplement that. So selection isn't really a big deal to me. And actually I mostly use treaming to watch tv shows anyway which is way more convinient this way since i don't have to wait 3 days to get the next disc in the series. I've watched 5 seasons of the office, a bunch of South Park, started watching legend of the Seeker, and soon Dexter and The Tudors. All shows that I wouldn't normally watch because the timing isn't convinient or I would miss episodes.
Anyone experience horrible lag when trying to play spec ops online with a friend? My brother and I tried to play but the lag was so bad that we couldn't play. One of us in Chicago the other in Omaha, but that shouldn't matter.
