Man I only buy. Any game I need to let go i'll put it on ebay. Trade in you not even get half of what you can get by selling it on ebay.

[QUOTE="Adziboy"]You're taking PS3-care to the next level. Extreme. Seriously though, it may or may not help; but I've never, ever, ever seen or heard of anyone do it before.

Yea man I love to open up things to explore what is inside of it every since I was a little kid lolz

Umm... First, I congratulate you on your willingness to tear down a system that you fully intend on using again; I really do. Second, I don't see how it would do anything but help. If you think the fan is running too loud than do it.

Yea well I have the skill of a computer tech so I am very confident on tearing it down lolz. Before you even ask "if im a computer tech y do I need to get on here to ask advice?" because I know there are people out there have a greater knowledge than me:D.... And like I said if yours is out of warranty already mind as well do it so it can last a little bit longer. I have heard a lot about the YLOD maybe this could help because their are no more dust from the inside for heats to build up.

Ok so I just disassemble my 60GB since the 1st day it came out (November 17, 2006). Man I tell you so much dust in there lolz. I spent an hour to recondition it. So when I open it up look at the fan there are a black sticker that cover the hole where you can oil up the fan just like how the computer's fan are. So my question, is it neccesary to oil it or just leave it how it is? The PS3 now is running like when I just got it haha. I suggest you do the same if your PS3 is out of warrranty. Blow the dust from the vent isn't good enough it look clean from the outside but once you get inside you will see what im talking about.

I would tell you try Ebay but DO NOT buy them memory sticks from HONG KONG or China it might be fake. Better to try Newegg or Pricewatch.com
