I use 2000dpi and sometimes i find it a little slow, i'm gonna need to upgrade when i upgrade my monitor setup. Also why did you set your mouse to 1800dpi if you find it too sensitive? The majority of people can only manage up to 1600dpi.markop2003

Well, like I said I'm completely new to PC shooters and using a mouse and keyboard. Been a console gamer my whole life. Anyway I set up my mouse is still going take some time to learn how to play with it. So I figured I would start at a high DPI and learn from there. I thought people generally play at high DPI since I seen lots of gaming mice go way above 1800 DPI.

Also, what is the difference between adjusting mouse dpi and adjusting a game's mouse sensitivity? For example, if i have my mouse at 1200 dpi and set the game's mouse sensitivity to max in game, opposed to having my mouse at 1800 dpi and set the game's mouse sensitivity in the middle. Will raising one instead of the other make the mouse smoother when turning and aiming?

Long time console player here new to PC shooters. I just got myself an MX518 and been playing around with the DPI settings and the sensitivity settings of these 2 games. I'm completely new to first person shooters on PC and am having trouble finding comfortable settings for DPI and sensitivity. I've have my DPI set at 1800 right now (max DPI for the mouse) and adjust the games sensitivity settings from there. Feels a little too fast at times but I don't want to be at a disadvantage when playing by putting it too slow.

For BF:BC2 I use 1800 DPI and have the game's sensitivity at 60. For Black Ops it's 1800 DPI and I think i have the games sensitivity at 4 boxes. What do you guys set your mouse DPI and game settings to when playing playing first person shooters?

You would have to upgrade your power supply. That computer you bought only comes with a 300 watt power supply and I believe that a 450 watt power supply is the recommendation for a 5770. Here buy this power supply along with the 5770 and you'll be good to go :D

This seems like the best option right now for the amount I'm willing to spend. I'll probably do this then. Thanks for the help everyone.

quoted from the specs from the ZT affinity : "Power Supply: 300W ATX". This is not enough to power that card + the whole system.

If I were you, I would think about buying a new power supply first for around $100 then, later down the line get a new Graphics Card.

This is a goodpower supply--CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W

If you want a half decent card now to go with that power supply upgrade, then get this:

XFX Ati Hd 4770

Corsair 650TX PSU + XFX Ati HD 4770 GPU = $208.98

If I were to get that power supply would i be able to run the 5770 with no problems? And if I were to leave the power supply as it is, what would be a good card to put in now?

I bought my computer from http://www.costco.com/ if you click on the computer section is the ZT affinity on main page for $600 under featured items. Would that comp be ok for the 5770 card?

This 5770(has many new features, including support for dx11(graphics technology), and other great features) or 4890(great performing card, should max out many games easily, supports dx10.1).

I was actually just looking at that site and that 5770 card when i made my post. Again i'm not really into technical stuff with computers. So with the specs I listed I shouldn't have any problems installing or running that card then?

I recently bought a new pc and am looking to upgrade my graphics card. I'm not really too tech savy so I can use a little help choosing a new card. I'm looking for something under $200 that will be able to handle heavy gaming.

Here are the specs for my comp:

Processor & Memory:

  • AMD Phenom™ II X4 Processor945 (3.0GHz)
  • AMD 780V / SB700 chipset
  • 8GB DDR2 SDRAM memory (4 x 2GB, shared)

Graphics & Video:

  • Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 3100 graphics with DVI

Expandability (total bays):

  • 2 x 5.25" external (1 occupied)
  • 2 x 3.5" external (1 occupied)
  • 4 x 3.5" internal (1 occupied)
  • 1 x PCIe x16
  • 1 x PCIe x1
  • 2 x PCI

I'm looking for another ATI Radeon card since my comp already has one integrated. If that even matters? I was looking around online and there are alot of good sales right now. So I would like some opinions on what people think would be best for gaming that would work well with my computers specs listed above.

Seems like CoD: WaW is the top game on both systems right now. I know WaW is usually the top game for Xbox according tohttp://majornelson.com/Anyone know of a site that keeps records of most played games for ps3?

Wait till the end of this week and Kz2 will be hot. I can't wait, hope the new maps will get me addicted again. But right now I'm playing Cod4, some Waw, and not much KZ, and Mgo i can't play at all, to many cheater/glitchers. Lone_Wolf94

I'm playing KZ2 right now. Took me a while to get used to but i'm starting to get the hang of it. Still has a weird feel to it. Turning seems to slow while aiming seems to fast. Other than that though I'm really liking the game. 118 kills 96 deaths now. At one point i had like 30 more deaths than kills. So i'm doing ok now.

And how do people cheat in MGO? When I play that game I never noticed anyone cheating.
