I tried Resistance 2. Didn't like it. I can't get into the fighting aliens thing anymore. Played halo 3 once and hated it. Gears of war 3 was boring, same crap as first 2 games. The type of shooters I like areBFBC,CoD4 and MGS4. Modern day shooters with real guns and real environments. I'm looking foward to MC2 and BFBC2.

Socom sounds like it might be fun. I like customization in shooters like MGS4 and realistic environments and weapons. How is the gameplay though? I was watching some gameplay videos of it and one thing i noticed is, the people playing hardly ever aimed there gun and the gameplay looks a little stiff. I notice that in most of the ps3 exclusives so far. MGS4 you have the over the shoulder view, KZ2 you can pretty much just run and gun shooting from the hip and in the socom videos doesn't seem like anyone aims there either. My favorite shooter before i got ps3 was Battlefield: Bad company. It had its flaws but the game play is real good. I think its probably the most underrated shooter out right now and my favorite. Bad Company 2 should be good.

Figured it had to be one of the Cod games. I have CoD 4 for xbox and there was always at least 50,000 people online.Any multi-platform shooter I'll probably just get for the 360 anyway.What about most played out of the ps3 exclusives?

I just got a ps3 three weeks ago. I got Metal Gear Solid 4 the same day and Killzone 2 yesterday. I like both games so far but I'm wondering what the most played shooter for the ps3 is. I know MGS4 been out for almost a year already. Whenever I go online with it I only see any between 1-3 full lobbies of 950 people. So about 3,000 people online at a time. I love the game but that to me seems pretty low. Also with KZ2, if i try to find a game with people around my level there are hardly any rooms. From what i read on the forums KZ2 online is dying off supposedly and its only been out for a few months. How are Resistance 2 and Socom? What are the hottest exclusive and hottest multi-platform shooters that most people are playing right now and how many people can you find online at a time on those?

[QUOTE="Shad0w9"]

Seriously you dont even need to be complaining, go out and buy urself a usb gamerpad like the 360s and problem solved really isnt it?Totalgym9000

I'm not complaining, just saying I'm having a hard time adjusting to playing shooters with it. I didn't even know until today you could use usb gamerpads on the ps3. I'd rather play wireless though so i'll just keep practicing like I been doing. Usb gamerpad will be last resort.

Also, for the people that play KZ2 and MGS4 what sensitivities do you have the controllers set at? For MGS4 after a while of testing out different settings i decided on 7 for movement and over the shoulder. For KZ2 I'm trying +1 on both x and y axis.

personally, i find i'm actually a little less accurate with the assymetrical controller. And there's no such thing a long time xbox player really is there...c'mon...don't kid yourselves, MS have only been in the game about 7 years.tirralirra

7 years playing shooters on one type of controller is a pretty long time. Shooters require reflex, timing and precision to play. When you get used to the way a controller moves and feels you know where your sights are gonna be as soon as you move the sticks to aim. Now to play with a different controller after 7 years throws your aim off or mine at least.

did you change the control scheme to alt 2 and lower the aiming sesnitivity until you find a comfort zone

hyperboy152000

The controller scheme isn't the problem. I'm alright with standard 1. The sensitivity is a problem though. It just feels weird. If i leave them at default or lower it makes aiming easier but turning is way too slow. If I'm getting shot at from behind I might as well bend over and take it because I won't be able to turn around, line up a shot and shoot back in time. Raising the sensitivity makes turning a lot better but aiming a lot harder. I been playing around with it though while practicing fighting bots on recruit difficulty. Right now i have x and y axis raised by 1 click. I'm doing alright with it set like that. I can do alright standing still and aiming at someone at medium to long range. But on the move and at close range my aim is a little wild. I can't really side strafe and shoot in this game.

[QUOTE="Eddie-Vedder"]Give me a 360 controller, a PS3 controller, a Mouse and Keyboard and I pwn with any of them,Couth_
Same here. People need to stop complaining :cry: I can go from playing 360 to PS3 and not even notice a difference in my hands.. And put the controllers side by side and they are damn near the same size :? Also they obviously don't suck if people can PWN you with instakills in Killzone....

I never said it sucked. I said i'm having a hard time getting used to it after playing on a xbox controller exclusively for years. I've been playing consoles since atari and the first nintendo. I've used lots of different controllers over the years. What year did the original Xbox come out? Because thats how long I have been using the xbox controller. Maybe you can play with both controllers because you have been using both controllers for a while now?

You're just in the initial stages of adapting to another console... I can tell because you still write like you sort of don't WAN'T to like the ps3 (Yeah sry but there's a scent of lemming in your posts).

Regarding KZ2: go with controle scheme 2 (Practically CoD4 controls) and practice practice. Getting used to a new controller can take a while if one type had got under your skin.

Oh and you should probably try out some of the games that don't interest you.... You may just be pleasently surprised.

Filthybastrd

Na believe me man when i got the ps3 i was hyped. Got me MGS4 and for the last 3 weeks thats all i played. I even joked with my cousin that my xbox turned into a paper weight. Even when i first went online with MGS4 and got owned it didn't really bother me. I knew the game been out for almost a year and I was getting used to a new controller on top of learning the game. 3 weeks of practicing and i was doing way better than when i started. Then I got KZ2 yesterday and I was like Fuuuuuu.. my crosshairs are all over the place in that game. Both systems have their pros and cons it doesn't matter what system I'm playing as long as I'm having fun. I'm glad i have both now.

Lack of games? That argument died out long ago. Look beyond those 2 games.

Ninten007

Ok let me rephrase what i said "What kept me from buying a ps3 was that it lacked games that I was interested in. Therefore I never really had a reason to get a ps3." Understand now? I have looked beyond those 2 games and nothing really interested me except for those 2 and God of War, which I'm really looking forward to. As for multi-platform games, right now any multiplayer shooter released for both systems will be purchased for the 360 because as of now, and i don't really see my mind changing, I prefer the 360 controller and also because i think xbox live is better than psn. I would get genres other than shooting for ps3 probably just to have some games for ps3 too. Final Fantasy XIII will be purchased for ps3. I'm not bashing ps3 I'm just stating my opinions between the 2 systems. Some of you people are ridiculous when it comes to ps3 and xbox comparisons. Right away it turns to "you can't play with ps3 controllers, you must suck" or "its not the system, its you" or "this system has these games and you have to like them because i do." Simple minded people..
