I tried installing Gears 2 and it took up almost 7 gigs of the 9 i had left. I started playing campaign on insane after that and it didn't really seem to effect much other than the fact that my xbox was a little quieter. Also not to sound like an idiot, but what is a pop-in? I've probably encountered it but didn't know wtf it was, so could someone enlighten me?
Gears is great for the really hardcore bloodthirsty kinda gamer, even though in my opinion online blows (way too many queers that glitch and wait for it.... HOST PWNGE). Anyway I prefer it. Halo 3 has a borderline O.K. campaign but its not great. Halo does have the better online play, but then again nothing beats ripping someone apart with a chainsaw bayonet.
I downloaded the trial version 2day and it was awesome. I never played the original but this is really fun. Usually I don't like arcade games but I'm getting this and Braid as soon as I can get some ms points.

I rent a lot of games at blockbuster and stuff b4 i by them, so I know what u are talking about. Personally i loved Assassin's Creed, but it does lose a lot of playability once u beat it. Gears is awesome (even though i suck at online and wretches rape me in the insane campaign which i have almost beaten), Halo is good, but nothing compared 2 Cod 4, and so is BF:BC. Oblivion is another good one, but i will admit it gets boring once you've beaten everything. Anyway, my worst buy was Turok. That game royally sucks. If I had bought Dead Rising or U T 3 they would be here 2. Dead Rising is just too hard early on (especially bosses) and U T 3 is like Halo in a Gears of War universe (They go freakin 50 mph!!!). Luckily I only rented those. U guys might want 2 try it. It really helps u out and is much cheaper than wasting ur money on crappy games.
I don't know what order, but the games I wanna get are Gears 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Prince of Persia, Fracture, Lord of the Rings: Conquest, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Left 4 Dead, Far Cry2, and a few others I can't remember right now. I know that's a butt load of games and I'll probably only rent half of them, but they all look pretty awesome.
