well i think i'll get it because that steam sales will make the game more active for at least a short time, and i searched "BFBC 2 servers" and i found quite a lot of them, so... i'll try it, worst case, i still have RO2 for realistic, and Planetside 2 for BIG
ShadowRun02's forum posts
hi all, im a fan of shooters, i don't own BF 3, but i played it with friends. it wasn't as fun i i thought it would be.
im one of those CoD haters, so... yea, BF 3 had it too arcaedy.Ā
i own RO2, but i want something more modern, and it'll be a while till ArmA 3 comes out, and BF:BC 2 is on sale now so... here are my questions -Ā
1) is it active?
2) should i get it?
3) is it better then BF 3?
and last but not least - is it somehow more realistic than BF 3?
how can planetside or tribes feel generic? these 2 are the most original and best looking MP FPS games out there!
but if you don't like them.... well:
1) Mechwarrior online- u have a giant mech, and 1 life per game (like CS), all very strategic as well, positioning and where, when and what are you shooting makes all the difference. an excellent game if you like CS/Mech combat (and who doesn't <3 massive building sized mechs battling it over the city?)
2) HAWKEN- if mechwarrior is CS of mech fighting, then HAWKEN is CoD. infinite respawns, super fast paced and mechs flying all over the place
3) DayZ-not a free game, it requires ArmA 2 combined ops, but it'll soon come out as a stand-alone game.Ā
DayZ is the biggest, holliest, most realistic Zomby game out there. a massive world, where you have to survive, and co-operate/kill other players. no Exp, the weapons you find are your "levels", the food you find is your HP. awesome game, if you like zombies/shooters/ArmA/super awesome player/world/player interaction
4) do you like MOBA games? cos if u do, try LoL/HoN/SMNC/DOTA 2 (i have 15 of then if u want one :P)Ā
5) Gotham city imposters- looks like a twelve years old wet dream, an awesome and hilarious shooter where you play either "the Batz" or "Da jokerz" with amazing and ROFL weapons, it plays a bit like CoD on LSD, with funny costumes, and awesome travel abilities (just read the review here)
6) Ghost Recon online- ubisoft's f2p game, it's a very nice looking third person shooter, with great animations and it looks like a retail game. it's not as special as other games, but it's very fun, the 3 classes balance each other very well, and all weapons feel fairly balanced and powerful.
hope i helpedĀ :D
PLANETSIDE 2!
best FPS evar, so big it makes battlefield cry, and it looks georgious. f2p on steam.
Ghost recon online:
ubisoft's f2p game, many people don't think it's fun, but i play it, a lot, it loooks AMAZING, it actually has the best animations i've seen in a f2p game. 3 classes, all very balanced, only problem- u can't switch class midgame.
Mechwarrior online:
a Mech combat simulator. the best Mech combat out there. totaly awesome, with fully costumizeable, building sized mechs. but it requieres a good rig.
HAWKEN:
if mechwarrior is a mech sim, then this is like a mech CoD. super fast paced with mechs flying all over the place
World of tanks/warplanes:
2 games that focus on tank vs tank/plane vs plane combat, both extremely good
Tribes Ascend:
Sci-fi hardcore shooter, that demands super skills to be good at, with jet-packs and sh!t....
these are the best i've played so far :P
i know im very late on that, but i only now discoverred there's ArmA 2 free multiplayer, and im a realistic shooter hog, i play RO2 a lot, i tried GRAW 2 because of some reviews that said it's realistic (it was nice, but not a realistic as i've wanted to)
anyways, i've heard ArmA 2 is super realistic, but i didn't want to buy the game since ArmA 3 is coming soon, and i also heard that the AI is totally rubbish, so... just asking :P
is the free MP active?
i want it for 3 reasons -
1) DayZ- i checked on system requirementslab, im over the min. it looks like the maddafakken best zombie game evar.
2) Multiplayer realism-ArmA has a reputation of an amazingly realistic game, well, i love battlefield's size, and RO2's realism, i hope the multi will be as great as i hope it is.
3) LOOOONG campaigns-both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA have 2 long SP campaigns ill probably play a bit before getting into the multi, it sounds great because of two reasons - first of all, ArmA 2 has multiple options, which is awesome, and second of all, OA looks like an amazing ***bug free*** campaign, which will help me through my suicidal internet wi-fi connection.
but the downsides are that my specs are bellow OA's min requierments (which makes me doubt how well ill run DayZ), and i tried ArmA 2 free, and the multi was.... dissapointing. (huge map, but 60 players made it feel so... empty, unrealisticallyempty)
my budget is around the 500$, 600$ if it includes OS and a Screen (i already have a mouse+keyboard)
ps, im not in the US nor in EU, so... just give me specs, i can get the comps myself
