I finished Demon's Souls! (Yes, it WAS easy)

- At the risk of sound haughty or arrogant, or even 'full-of-myself', I must say, Demon's Souls was a cake walk. I played Dark Souls a long back when it was released, and I found that game much harder than Demon's Souls. There were no cheap items (like the regenerators ring in Demons' Souls), they limited how much you could heal yourself, etc. In Demon's Souls, it was a free for all. Unlimited healing items, (there was a part of the game where killing ONE enemy would give you 5,000 souls, and there was a merchant right next to him.{Shrine of Storms}), weak bosses, etc.

- Let me list off the bosses I beat on my first try in Demon's Souls. (Sorry if I misspell)

- Phalanax

- Tower Kight

- Penetrator

- Leechmonger

- Dirty Colossus

- Maiden Astrea

- Armor Spider

- Flamelurker

- Certainly not the Dragon God.. I walked in and got falcon-punched by him, one hit kill.

- Adjucater

- Storm King

- Fools Idol

- Old Monkster

- The REAL King Allant

ll

- The only boss I found truly difficult was the False King. That's one of the things I thought was sad in Demon's Souls, the bosses weren't very hard at all, Demon's Souls is a absolute cake-walk when compared to Dark Souls. One of the reasons I think I found it easy was that I played Dark Souls so much, I became a master of the controls. So, naturally, I started the game like a pro.

- Also, I thought the game simply squandered some could-have-been great boss fights. For example, as I walked the final steps to the final boss of the Tower of Latria, I saw an amazing cutscene where the 'Old Monk' created a demon. The demon looked a lot like a world invader. I figured I would have to fight many of them, it would be a true test of endurence. Nope, I just had to kill that one guy. The fight lasted about 50 seconds. The game got pretty weak at the end, the final boss was laughable. I killed King Allant in roughly 30 seconds. Lord Gwen>King Allant. Oh well. I tend to dwell on the negatives of games, sometimes.

ll

- Demon's Souls, however, does not give you many reasons to dislike it. It is indeed a masterfully created game, and it delivers some unforgettable moments. The Tower of Latria just might be one of my all time favourite levels in gaming. Being outside, looking up and seeing those massive chains in the sky, and seeing the all the two glowing red eyes of those Demons.. Creepy. The soundtrack is incredible as well, even though it is not quite as good as Dark Souls' soundtrack. I like seeing the great progression this series as made. Great times all around. Glad I played it. Very much so.

9.3/10 is my score for this gem.

ALSO, I played the entire game in OFFLINE mode only.

Are Video Games art?

-Obviously not. Me and a friend were playing Sonic Unleashed on his Xbox 360, man that game sucked. Horrible controls, terrible level design, it was laughable.

-Obviously. As I played Metal Gear Solid 4, I was frequently feeling the same emotions as the characters, sadness, despair, more sadness, and the overall beauty of the game. A perfect game to use as a tool if you are arguing the point that video games are art.

kk

- My point is, both parties are wrong. 'Video Games are art!' False. 'Video Games aren't art!' False. Are 'books' art? Movies? No. SOME movies are, SOME books are, SOME video games are. For example, if a non-gamer just plays a terribly shallow video game like Lollipop Chainsaw, no doubt he will think video games are a shallow and thoughtless form of 'entertainment'. However, if he plays Shadows of the Colossus, no doubt he will think that video games are a new, interesting, and thoughtful form of media.

l

But of course, one must remember, art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. To sum it up in a sentence, I think some video games are art, just like how some movies and some books are. So what are your thoughts on video games as art? Do you want video games to keep pushing artistic borders, or do you enjoy simpler games?

Which game should I preorder?!

- I usually don't preorder games, but I'm now standing at a crossroads. I want to only preorder one of these two PS3 games, but I'm having trouble deciding which.

- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Metal Gear Solid is my all time favourite series. The first Metal Gear Solid game I'd ever played was Metal Gear Solid 2; and I really liked Raiden. He only got 'awesomer' as the series went on, and now he is starring in another game all to himself. However, my main worry is that this action game is not being made by Kojima Productions, but by Platinum Games. I've never played a game by Platinum Games, so I'm worried that this game will stink. Big time stink.

- God Of War: Ascensions. I love God Of War. So much so that I capitalize the 'O' in Of even though I'm not supposed to. This game, with the exception of a shoehorned-multiplayer-looking-thing, looks very solid. However, I'm worried that Santa-Monica studios is beginning to milk the franchise. Another prequel? Is this game going to FINALLY going to change up the gameplay?

So.... discuss.

It's my birthday!

So yeah, party and stuff. Tomorrow, that is.

I'll probably get the Ratchet and Clank HD Collection, some of my favourite PS2 games, or the Jak and Daxter HD Collection, a series I've never played, but always wanted to. Or both.

In other news, I just killed the Leachmonger boss in Demon's Souls. I used turpentine on my scimitar+4 and he went down real easy like.

My impressions of Demon's Souls.

-Dark Souls is one of my favourite games of all time. It's just that great. So, naturally, I got Demon's Souls. I made my character a white dude with white hair (like my Dark Souls character), I choose the solider/warrior class (I can't remember which), and started bashing heads with my Bastard Sword. I failed miserably against the first tutorial boss, then I eventually killed the squishy first real boss of the game. I moved on and beat the Tower Knight boss on the first try and have stopped for now.

-The combat is nearly the same as Dark Souls, but the game world is handled quite differently. Dark Souls world was intricately interwoven as one massive world, but in Demon's Souls, you choose where to travel via hub world. It's a nice change of pace from Dark Souls.

-Also, IT'S JUST AWESOME.

I think I'll move through this game pretty fast; after all, thanks to Dark Souls, I'm already a master of the controls.

Thoughts on Assassin's Creed 3 and Oblivion.

These are my impressions.

-Well, another Ass Cred game has come and gone, and even though the majority of gamers had high hopes for this title, it fails to live up to the hype. Even with a fresh new interesting setting, and some interesting new features, this series yet again falls into the rut of 'More of the same'. The game plays incredibly similar to previous installments in the series. Also, to top it off, the game is ridiculously buggy. Not only does the game have a large number of small glitches and bugs, I've heard it also has a game-breaking bug in the 6th sequence. Nuts to that.

- After playing Skyrim for roughly 230 hours, I started up Game of The Year Oblivion. I'm around 70 hours in, and I must say, this game is quite great. Yeah, the combat is still horrid and the character models are horrible, but the game has aged relatively well. Gotta love strutting into a town, raking in the quests. I actually like the way the game has handled magic. In Skyrim, you had to have nothing equipped in your hands. In Oblivion, you can still use magic, even if your hands have weapons equipped. Of course, I'm a Nord, and I'm on level 24. I've beaten the main story, and the Kights of the Nine DLC. Awesome stuff, now I'm moving on to the Shivering Isles DLC.

Dat arse.

Oh, and New Super Mario Bros. 2 is nothing more than a mindlessly fun rehash of the first two games. Thank goodness I got it free..

Demon's Souls and New Super Mario Bros. 2!

Please, I gots nuthin' teh eats. -Begger

Hurricane Sandy is ripping through here like a mofo. Power could go out any second! But, good news, I got Demon's Souls GOTY and New Super Mario Bros. 2!

ll

ll

NEW GAMES! NEW GAMES!

I'll start Mario first because it'll be short, sweet, and it won't distract me from Oblivion much. After Oblivion is fully finished, I'll start Demon's Souls.

Alright, wish me luck.

And hope my house doesn't blow away.

The most overrated series of this generation! LET'S HATE!

- This generation of games is indeed arguably the worst gaming has seem in a long time, but some games just bring the crap level insanely high, even though some people just absolutely love them.

When we're talking the most overrated series of this generations, we're talking Assassin's Creed.

...

- It sickens me when I hear people say, 'Assassin's Creed is one of the most influential games this gen' and lines such as that.

- The first issue that shames the series is how they attempt to draw you in with 'engaging stories', when the story is one of the most laughable things about this series. The first Assassin's Creed game had no story at all. It was poorly conceived, poorly told, and absolutely no one cared enough about the first garbage game in the series to spend hours trying to piece together the sloppy story. The second games story is a simple revenge story, better than the first, but not really remarkable, and the story of the last two games can be summed up as, 'Political Unrest'. Cue sleeping. Now before anyone calls me a stupid c**t who can't understand storylines worth s**t, bear in mind Metal Gear Solid is my favourite series. Enough said.

- The controls are overly complex. Complex, yes, but you do eventually get accustomed to them, and then you'll be playing like a pro. However, the controls didn't seem to be tested well at all. Whenever I'm running away from anyone, I'll find my self tripping over people, glitching my way through poles, and jaggedly ambling up the sides of walls like a drunk cow.

- The missions in the original Assassin's Creed is what made the game horrible. Cripplingly repetitive missions. The first game can be summed up as, 'Viewpoint, save citizen, veiwpoint, pickpocket, veiwpoint, save citizen, listen in, assassinate'. Just repeat that about eight times and you win. Yay. The second game and its sequels did a much better job in this regard though, so I'll take it easy.

- 'You've played one, you've played them all.' The icing on the cake is that these games are incredibly similar, and they seem to hate innovation.

kk

Assassin's Creed 3 could be just what the series needs. Innovation, a new setting (I love American history, the revolutionary war, etc.), so this could redeem an awful series, and maybe turn it into something great.

Alright, start hating and telling me how 'I'm not a true gamer'.

I said I would talk about Dark Souls, right?

Little spoilers gently pepper this writing.

-It's been a looooong time since I first played Dark Souls in 2011. Experiencing some of the most creative worlds a game has ever spawned, feeling such a primal and pure form of terror, and helping and hurting others in some of the most innovative multiplayer ever, I can confidently say this of definitely one of the best games, ever.

- Let's start with the game's chokingly stifling atmosphere. It's set in a dark, depressing, and hopeless medieval world. The characters mostly all sound defeated and crestfallen, as if their very spirits have been broken. The art style frequently goes the morbid and grotesque look, and much of the games areas are dilapidated and crumbling ruins. Like Kevin Vanord said in his gamespot review,

'Any game can deliver a few cheap scares. It takes a special one to terrify you. Dark Souls is such a game. It's a thoughtful, atmospheric, and mysterious role-playing adventure that challenges your mind and your mettle.'

llhhh

-It's pretty simple in terms of controls. A button to lock on, you have two main attack buttons, light and heavy, etc. It's pretty long too, it took me about 70 hours to beat the game at first, even know there wasn't a single side-quest. Also, did I mention the game was difficult? There was a time were I simply couldn't go any further, and I just gave up. A little later though, I got back to it and ABSOLUTELY flamed through the game in a week. Talk about a second wind.

- The multiplayer is some of the most innovative, ever. While you progress through the story, if you want to be summoned to someone else's world, simply place a 'summon sign' where you want to help them. If someone on their PS3 sees it, they can summon you. Upon helping them beat the area boss, you get the same amout of experience as they do. Also, you can invade other people's games, kill them, and steal their loot. If you wanted to be a meanie. No one likes meanies.

Oh, many of you mean asses didn't give me any feedback on my last blog so..

The Truth about Swimmer, Bugbag, and Ikhzo.

The Truth about Swimmer, Bugbag, and Ikhzo.

Please read the following while listening to this peace of music:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HYu3-iUc68&feature=related
-The year is 1650. It is 9:00 PM. It is a rainy, cold, and dark night.

- The rain pounds against the hay roof of the stone cottage. The stone cottage was near a small village. Every now and then a loud crackle of lightning would rip from the clouds. Inside the candle lit home was a mother named Swimmer, who was holding her young son who was around the age of seven, Ikhzo.

- 'Mother, when will Papa come home?' asked the young boy.

- 'Soon, my little babushka.'

- At that very moment, the wooden door flew wide open, and a stong, tall male figure was standing in the doorway, soaking from the rain.

- 'Papa Bugbag!' shouted the boy with glee.

- 'Ahh, Ikhzo.' said Bugbag as he hugged the boy.

- 'How did it go?' asked Swimmer nervously.

- Bugbag looking pensive for a moment, then said, 'Ikki, why don't you go upstairs and fold your clothes.'

- 'Oh..alright.' answered Ikhzo slowly.

- After Ikhzo went upstairs, Bugbag said quietly to his wife, 'Not good. They did not take it well when I testified agaist their brother.'

- 'But he commited murder-!'

- 'I know' finished Bugbag. 'They threatened to hurt Ikhzo. I've arranged for you to stay with my Father, far away from here.' Bagbag said, his voice quickening.

- 'But what about you-'

- 'Never mind that! Hurry! Take Ikhzo and go!'

- After Swimmer and Ikhzo prepared to leave, Bugbag told Ikhzo, 'You listen to you mother, now, alright?'

- 'What do you mean, Papa?' questioned little Ikhzo.

- The sound of footprints could now be heard and the clanging of steel could be heard getting closer to Bugbag and his family.

- 'Go! Now!' Bugbag commanded.

After the mother and son fled out of sight, the source of the noise had reached Bugbag. Bugbag valiantly fought to best the attackers, but eventually succumbed to their swords. But Bugbags selfless sacrifice was not in vain, for his family, the one thing he truly cherished, had safely made it to the safe house.

- That's right, I'm writing stories with my Gamespot friends as the characters. If you want to be in the next short story, just say the word. Also, you don't get to choose what kind of character you get to be or what era of time the story will be set in.
