your PS3 is most likely dead

same thing happened to me (Turned off unexpectedly, tried again, turn off only after a few seconds) had to call up Sony turns out the thing is dead and i need to get a new one

I too learned today that thats not possible to due the fact that the PS3, when backing up the HDD, some how changes information on the disc so that it can be read by an external device, and without the PS3 working, it is not possible to exchange the information from your HDD to the computer's HDD
