Well in the original post he said that people think of Black Metal when they think of hevey metal music which probably isn't true. I think that most people think of older bands or newer 2000+ era bands like Slipknot and Lamb of God. Most metalheads always start out with one band and evolve into liking others. I personally started out with Slipknot and Marilyn Manson in 1999 and have since out grown them or I should say my musical tastes changed and become a huge Death Metal fan with the likes of Dimmu Borgir and Chthonic being my favorites with at least 5 others also. Chthonic is from Taiwan, I saw them at Ozzfest and got their autograph and CD and it has blown my mind. Love their sound
This topic has made me look back through my life's listening history and it is amazing how I have shifted from one genre to another with the way my life changes. You guys ever notice how Metal music is the most accepting crowd/genre when it comes to diversity?
