Yo Kreatzion, wtf happened to the connection? It went from perfectly fine to unplayable all of a sudden :(

Ah man, I couldn't disagree more. Elf is the monkey wrench in the cast that, theoretically, can put ANYONE to the test. Of all the cast, he is probably the most flexible. Not Dhalsim flexible (lol), but flexible in that you can kinda do whatever you want with him. Seems like I see some new brilliant scheme, or trap, or setup from Elf than any other character, and I'd venture to guess he's got the most hidden potential (in terms of new, interesting discoveries and such) in the cast as well.[QUOTE="ShenlongBo"]

to be honest Elf is just a bad character design all around IMO.

I agree he's annoying though, lol. But a welcome annoying...
He has some versatility but for the most part of any Elf match its , S.HP loop or a wake up game. The matches are just waiting for the untechable knock down into a guessing game. I think basing 90% of a characters game around wake up is boring. Wake up is already strong enough as it is.
Hm, yeah, all good points. I still feel the same way as I did before, but I see where you're coming from. At the same time, I feel like most popular characters have their own popular M.O.s, so they're not necessarily much different in that respect. Elf is just more annoying because it can be SO aggravating once you get knocked down.Characters that can slide have a bit of an edge, though. Helps me, anyway.
And, hey, let's do some 2v2 or 3v3 teams guys, eh?
It's just short for El Fuerte.Perhaps this one is over my head or it's going out one ear and through the next, so I'll ask.
Why are you guys calling El Fuerte Elf?

And I just had a thought for a new elf costume: an ELF COSTUME! Like with pointy shoes and stuff. WHO'S WITH ME GET HYPE!

I'm guessing "for better." There's some weird stuff with her EX Tatsu on a few crouching characters (like Akuma) that I bet they're going to iron out. Wonder why there was no word on the EX Shoryu default where the second part doesn't always connect after the first part.To also add to sakura's changes. I've heard she is getting hit box tweaks for better or for worse.

I was really hoping for the faster walk speed rumor to be true. The faster cr.lk is cool, though. Doesn't look like much changed for my main.SSF4 AE changes for Chun-Li, El Fuerte, Sakura & Cody
In the same link, they also attached a brief Q&A about the previous entry they did and answer a few questions.

I have no idea why Capcom decided to nerf Elf. Love him or hate him, it's not like he gets a lot of serious action even in casual matches, let alone serious tournaments. I'm curious why they'd even look in his direction for tweaks... and then decide to make him... weaker? Okay... Shouldn't have a big impact at all. Which, again, begs the question: why bother? It's like the Gen nerf repeated, only more mind-bottling.
EDIT: First part was referring to Cody.
Haha anybody who knows what buttons are could wreck with Honda. :p But yeah do it, it'll just get me really bad all the time. Hakans command errors are annoying. I'm sure you've noticed it, I jump back and want a slide when I hit the ground, I get command grab, I do a full screen oil dive grab when I wanted oil. (That one is the worst..-_-) Those shortcuts get in the way of what I WANT to do. But I take the good with the bad. :Djks22112It still kills me that Capcom made SFIV a link-intensive game, which would assume a reasonably skilled/dedicated playerbase, but also added input shortcuts. I feel like if a player can link consistently, they're probably good on the ol' quarter-circle motion. Just sayin'...
I would have used Hakan, but I get a lot of input errors with him. I always get a command grab when I try to do his slide. It happens way too much, and if not for that, I'd play Hakan. I probably need to just suck it up and play as Honda, because I probably have some real potential there. I mean yeah, he's definitely a badass character, so a lot of people could probably wreck with him, but still.Anybody with the slightest knowledge of zoning loves to fight T.hawk. I hate trying to get in on people with that guy sometime. I think he's worse than hakan honestly. Imo. Thats why I don't use him anymore. I hate that guy.
jks22112
Haha, yeah that was badass, lol. I thought the exact same thing: it was one of those wacked-out Street Fighter moments. Definitely be sure to upload that if you can, lol. Everyone here will enjoy it, I'm sure. They get to see you housing Gen too, lol.Sorry for my awful connection tonight Shen Long. I dunno what was going on with my internet tonight. I even tried to play some ranked matches after and they were all terribly laggy as well. I also apologize for my mean T.Hawk. Haha, I hate using him. Such a dick character. Lol.
Also that Hakan super > Gen super in that one fight was wicked awesome. I laughed pretty loud. I'll try to upload it sometime. It was one of those SSF4 WTF moments. But it is pretty easily explained. Hakans super if used with the lk button is invincible to attacks, and gens super goes through the opponent, so it didn't hit, went through me and then the grab let go and grabbed you. Haha. Some of that lucky stuff hakan players get against people who don't completely know the matchup. :p That is why I hold the button if I whiff. It's better to just duck and wait for the grab to whiff. Some pretty bad recovery you could have supered after that.
jks22112
Yeah, the connection sucked, but it's all good. I actually really like fighting against T. Hawk, but it's a lost cause when it's laggy at all :(
Cool man, thanks for the update. Looks like we've got a couple ties. We'll have to tally up votes again to break them (boo), or, if you guys are cool with it, I can just go ahead and break the ties by executive (iron-clad, socially-awkward) power (and holiness). Up to ya'll. Can't break the tie on my own nominations, though.Ok, pretty sure I didn't miss any votes. We have a few ties here. What happens next?
Crosell - Dudley. - 2 Cody - 2 Akuma - 1
Meta - Juri. - 1, Chun Li - 3 Rose - 1
DC - C.Viper -2, Cammy - 2 Balrog - 1
Kreatzion - Makoto - 2, Bison - 1 Guy - 1
Shen - Seth -2 Guile - 2
CitizenCIA - Ryu - 2 Rose - 2 Fei Long - 1
De Shae - Vega - 1
jks22112
We have the following ties:
Crosell: Dudley vs. Cody
DC: Viper vs. Cammy (I'd personally prefer Cammy over Viper here, but I think Kreatzion's Balrog nomination was best of all, to be honest).
Shen: Seth vs. Guile
CIA: Ryu vs. Rose
Which means, the following players are locked into the GUP3 with the following characters:
Metamania: Chun!
Kreatzion: Makoto!
Bronx has the Vega nod, but nobody else has chimed in yet, so... let's get some more feedback on that before we finalize anything.
Once we break the ties, all that's left is to... start! In the past, the GUP was pretty simple: use only one character for a whole month. I wanted it to be at least a little grueling, otherwise it would feel pointless. This time, however, I want to do something a bit different. It'll still be grueling, but not in the same way as before. The idea still isn't fully formed, but I'll be ready with it once we get the characters assigned. Remember, everyone, we need to break the existing ties and touch on Bronx's character (lolwut?!)
