PC will always be a better platform, dont forget all the content you consume on the consoles is made first on a PC and built around the limitations of the console.

Nvidia came out not long ago and said its impossible for the consoles to have better graphics than the PC purely because the PC was also the best graphics platform. If its a question of input, PC also wins out as it has an extreme selection of third party input devices including those that are based around haptic feedback to pick from. If its about social aspects to a publishers console... well outside of the general options via internet, steam has grown to be one of the best out there. Content is another big one, with PCs there is a huge influx of user generated content whether its in the form of the steam workshop or just general mods, players on a PC usually pay less for their games and get more in the process.

PCs can hook up to TVs as well as other display devices, so this is not exclusive to consoles. This is made especially clear with the advent of the steambox.

So what do you get with consoles? Right now.... ease of use (basically plug and play), as well as whatever exclusives the publisher managed to buy out... so basically its game specific.

Im going to predict that the future for consoles is numbered. Consoles are just hardware platforms for existing Publishers. Publishers make their money from games, not the hardware. Thus dont be surprised if they eventually cave in on making PC based platforms instead and just make use of online distribution platforms (like Steam) instead.

You might not want them to give attention or review this game yet. Its such a bloody mess than negative reviews, and there will be many, will hurt the game. Let us users give the craptastic reviews on these games, let ego soft patch it up to playability, then maybe it can get a review that wont doom it.

nothing you say is true... at all. the delay was to avoid a sales war between two of their key franchises, both of which are similar in gameplay.

case closed. you can say whatever you want. your comments are bullshit.

Haha, listen to yourself. You are so desperate to claim you are right and everything else is BS, that you are consciously ignoring factual information that destroys your chosen belief. Do you seriously think they would delay a game to prevent competition WHEN:

1) They already had pre-orders for Watch Dogs that surpassed their expectations.

2) They would have their shares crash by over 32%

3) They would lose $52 million in operation cost.

Nice try kiddo but no, you cannot make the claim you are making in such a simple minded "case closed" fashion. You simply refuse to pay attention to the facts. Have you considered that you are what you pretend to claim everyone else is?

you have no proof, and are talking out your ass.

and bullshit you work in hollywood. if you wanted even a shred of credibility, you shouldnt have even gone there. completely ridiculous. you are just some dumbass kid trying to sound like a rockstar on a forum.

if anything, the real reason watchdogs was delayed was to prevent a sales war between watchdogs and AC4... both of which are open world games and would have appealed to the same people... also.... watchdogs clearly has a connection to the AC series, so they may either be developing that further, or taking the time to flesh the game out like they said.

Sounds like you have a confirmation bias kiddo. Try not to go around painting people in the light that confirms whatever bias you feel the need to have, or desperately want to have.

I do work in Hollywood, not sure what thats supposed to mean to you though. It is just a small part of Los Angeles. Is that really that far fetched for you? Regardless, its not about me or what you want to believe (including age). Why dont you start looking a persons profile before rushing to judgement though. That said, Its a fact that JJ Abrams is indeed going after Ubisoft over watchdogs. There is no reason to make this up. It is nice however if people know the real reason for the delay. LIke I said earlier, its the internet, so its fine to be skeptical, but dont be an ass about it.

Try not to ignore key information here. By delaying, Ubisoft had their stocks drop the lowest in their companies history (32% drop). They are are also estimated to lose at least $54 million in operating cost due to the delay. Their pre-orders for Watch Dogs already surpassed expectations (according to Ubisoft). So no it wasnt avoid competition with AC4, the delay is too costly. What could be more costly however is a lawsuit by a powerful figure in Hollywood who actually believes Watch Dogs is taking from his TV show franchise. Many users have already drawn this parallel and its obvious that Abrams and his studio Bad Robot would pick up on this.

If you want to be a skeptic, go ahead, but stick to the wait and see approach rather than try to dub others as "kids" "trying to sound like a rockstar" and are full of "bullsheet". It doest really help your own image.

To add, Watch Dogs was delayed due to a lawsuit brought on by JJ Abrams, who believes the game is too close to his tv show "person of interest". Ubisoft nor JJ Abrams want to announce this publicly at this point, as it just makes them look bad.

wat? bullshit. there is nothing anywhere on the net about this either....

That's because these events are being kept under wraps atm and it is still ongoing. The New York Times's business section reported that Ubisoft took a major hit causing their "shares to crash" because of the delay. They wouldnt allow that happen for just "mere polish". There is a legal dispute and JJ Abrams is at the middle of it. I'm sure you can understand why Ubisoft or Bad Robot (studio behind the tv show, owned by Abrams) wouldnt want bad press from this.

Hey It may be that the studio really did want to continue to work on it (as a game artist I can agree with that sentiment), and the lawsuit might be just the excuse to make that happen, but it exists none the less. Like everything on the internet, its up to you or anyone else reading on whether or not they chose to believe it, but make no mistake JJ Abrams is not happy with watch dogs and there is a legal dispute going on right this minute. I'll toss in this bit of info though, living and working in Hollywood, I have direct access to quite a few people directly tied to the tv show. Abrams is not letting this one go.

You guys really want to know the real reason for the delay? JJ Abrams is going after Ubisoft because he feels like the show is ripping off one of his tv shows called "Person of Interest". Due to the lawsuit or potential lawsuit, the game is getting delayed. You now know where to direct your anger. My source comes directly from someone I know personally who works on the tv show.

Once more people know about this, its possible he may drop his "charges".

And without those very well written and executed infected the game would also be just another Fallout, even more generic.Justforvisit
lol well written and executed infected? You might want to re-articulate what you mean by this cause as it stands it makes no sense.

Fallout is more akin to the Mad Max post apoc setting with a 1950's futurism spin to it. It is far more original and less used than you give it credit for. The first fallout game dates back to 1997, even before the zombie apoc theme hit...and even fallout was considered the sucessor to the 1988 Wasteland universe...  But this isnt about fallout.

Its about the last of us and looking at it objectively as a product.

It does not come with a manual but it does come with some naughty dog decals. One thing to keep in mind is the digital version is 27gb if hdd space or download speed is a concern.

TheOneAndOnlyDC
I had already picked up the physical version because the digital would have put my hd near max. However it didn't even have the decals.

If you like the game, and think the developers deserve the praise. Keep it if possible instead of giving it back to the retailers to recycle as that ultimately hurts the developers. I usually recommend digital for that very reason, but the downside is that they make the games large enough to fit on bluray, which is often a pain to fit on the console HD.

This game looks great and I'll be getting it fo shore

however, I just can't help but wonder if it wouldn't be even better if it had restrained itself to only human enemies, no infected/zombies whatever... and thus retained that sort of bleak realism of The Road

anyone agree?

OmenUK

Couple of points:

1) Sure (not Shore)

2) They are NOT zombies they are infected

3) Whole point of the game is dealing with both human enemies and infected because without them it is just another us against them shooter

They are zombies. We like to come up with cute different names for them and tie it to some virus or disease instead of the usual mysticism, but they are zombies in every sense of the word. Also if you have ever played some of the Splinter Cell games, or even Metal Gear Solid, you would know just by having humans doesnt make it a shooter game. While I personally dont have a problem with Zombies as a challenge mechanic, it did ultimately make many parts of the game painfully stereo typical. The designers could have come up with something more unique, but they chose to stick to the usual zombie apocalypse story and toss in a few lovable characters. The characters and their dialog is perhaps the only real redeeming value in the game, everything else is just generic...solid, but generic. We give it a pass because the production quality is consistent, and for some dumb reason thats rare these days.
