I was really hoping they would show us something that would finally sell me on the Wii. I was dissapointed.

Ugh man, tough choice for me. I spent the last 4 years playing World of Warcraft. Since I broke free from that curse ive pretty much only been playing the 360. Ive never had a real preferance when it came to consoles, I just like good games. For me, getting a PS3 is just a matter of time (Price reduction or an exclusive that really wows me) For now though, I love my 360. So I suppose the 360 would be my gaming system of choice at the moment.

Gears of War (1 and 2) would be great additions to your collection if you dont already have them. They are both pretty cheap now too. The mutlplayer isnt great, but the single player is just awesome, in both games.

I actually managed to get into a few multiplayer games not to long ago as well. The game itself is classic of course, but the multiplayer was fun too, and the stuff they did for the xbox version was awesome.

I play it almost nightly. (and have since it was released last year) Never have trouble finding games. I recommend it for sure, its a great game. Tons of replay value and probably the most fun ive had with an online shooter in a long while.

The Auto-Shotgun in Left 4 Dead.

I know a shotgun isnt exactly the most flashy, exotic weapon ever, but man did they nail this one. Its so satisfying to use, and once you get proficient with it, its just too much fun. Its one of the only Shotguns ive used in a game that has some real punch too it, without feeling really limited or gimmicky to balance it out. My favorite aspect though, is that it allows me to fill the support role I prefer in that game perfectly. For me, its a case of the right weapon being in the right game.

So we play games with huge, buff, muscle clad dudes, who can conjure fire from thin air or slash off heads with a samurai sword. (etc, etc) But its the sexy female character in the game that suspends your disbelief. Really?

Ive been enjoying the weekend a lot myself so far. My reasoning is pretty simple though. As somebody genuinly new to GoW2 multiplayer (I just hit level 8 yesterday) these changes make the game a lot less hectic. Though I still get gibbed for sure, it doesnt feel like its happening all-the-time anymore. In general things just arent as overwhelming. For a newbie, it gives me some much needed breathing room until I can improve a bit more.

Take this early time now to get yourself familiar with the game. Try and get good at it (if you enjoy it). Before you know it, people will be offering to have you join them in their games. The awesome part about making new friends online, is that you already share a common interest. It goes both ways though, if you come across somebody who you had fun playing with, dont be afraid to say something. "Hey man, you were awesome, we should do this again". You'll be surprised how eager some folks are. It really and truly makes a difference to go into your favorite game with a team full of friends you know and trust to play well.

Just like in real life though, there are a lot of people who are just anti-social or complete jerks. Most everybody else just wants to have a good time, like you. You can even use websites like this to search for like minded folks. I started and then later joined another gaming "clan" myself right here, in these very forums a few years back. Sometimes it takes a little work, but man is it worth it. I wish you had Xbox Live, id invite you to some games of mine for sure. If you ever get it, look for ShinZero. =)
