@zimerust: I dont buy these numbers- the same chart has the NES Classic as an attach rate of 30- but that console comes with 30 games. The Wii came with wii sports, so thats an automatic minus 1. You buy that the Nintendo DS is one of the best selling consoles ever but has a lower attach rate than the wii? I dont
@philip6k: @johnny0779 Id argue you both are correct. PS3 EVENTUALLY eke-d out a victory in like 2014 with total consoles sold. But that generation was all about xbox live and xbox. Xbox had Gears, Halo, timed-exclusive Oblivion. It was the hottest console on earth and everybody wanted to be on Xbox Live with their buddies. And Yes, RROD was a complete disaster. But people just kept buying the damn thing. The whole user experience was just excellent
@dani3po: The attach rate on the Wii was really poor. Yes, it absolutely won the "which sold more units" contest. But the average Wii owner only owned 1 game. XBox and PS3 was 8+ games per owner.
The $599 pricetag was almost the dagger. That was an insane asking price. I didnt get one until I could snag a used one for $200. I went Xbox360 that generation and it was definitely the right choice until way deep into the console lifecycle.
