Back in the '80's, it was Heavy Metal music (Judas Priest,Ozzy, Iron Maiden,Twisted Sister) that was blamed for suicides and violence; rap music for gang violence and so forth. I was into Death Metal (Cannibal Corpse,Obituary,Morbid Angel,Slayer,Carcass....) and play violent video games (Call of Duty,GTA,Max Payne,Bulletstorm, MORTAL KOMBAT (of all things), Halo and so forth.... BUT, I'm also a Christian who knows the difference between right and wrong, who was raised by a loving single parent who trusted me to make the right decisions. I don't even own a gun, but if I did, I wouldn't have any inclination to just shoot people (only in Self Defense or defending my family and friends, or if someone really pissed me off....just kidding about that last one :p). Anyway, I'm also a martial artist; soon to be a black belt. After playing mortal kombat, I don't go around throwing punches or kicks or use my spinning hat saw on people (again just kidding on that). The point is, people need to take responsibility for their actions. Parents should be PARENTS, monitor your kids, listen to what they are saying, watch how they are acting. The Colombine tragedy was blamed on music and video games, but of course the media failed to mention that the parents didn't bother to notice what was going on with those two; the fact they had guns in their rooms, ammo, maps of the school....and so forth. I'm just so tired of this Blame GAME. My Ex-Fiance tried to discourage me from playing Halo due to that Preachers kid who killed his mom with his dad's (the preacher) gun which was locked up in the same vault as Halo. I pointed out the obvious flaw in that argument. Pass the blame onto the individual, not the guns, not the games, not the music.
