Pretty much a "battlemage" I spose, focusing on destruction, restoration, heavy armor, one hand (dual-wielding tho), all the crafting.

I let the enemy close in while peppering them with destruction magic before taking my second sword out and stabbing them in the face. Spent some time in prison and shiv-ed a fellow inmate in the face. My last companion also got stabbed in the face and died, leaving me to slowly carry all the loot she was holding, turns out a dead mule is a useless mule.

Not too bummed out about it, as for whatever reason she kept crashing at my place when I told her to bugger off. Even though there was a spare room, I kept finding her sitting at my table in my bedroom! Bit of a creep, would wake up with her staring at me. She won't be missed

hmm freelancer? tho i doubt it but its the closest I could think of. Sorry. Hopefully someone can come up with a better answer

Best to ask this in egosoft forums. Also depends on what you wanna do, there are quite a lot of different mods/scripts for X3TC.

Play through on its original settings though and do some of the plot stuff I guess. Some mods can mess up with plots.

Some mods that I used to play with was -

Improved boarding, missile defense mk2, npc bailing, pirate guild, yaki armada, anarkis defense system, MARS, ship rebalance and either improved race or military base response (both simulate "wars" or skirmishes between AI races). Also a cheat script just in case a mod screws with something.

These are just some personal preferences. Also bunch of other mods I used which I cant remember.

I got Warband off steam recently (some discount) played the tutorial and thats about it really. Seems alright but hasn't drawn me in yet. Will give it a proper shot soon.

Yea I did for like 2-3 years after beta, but I quitted after the community became way too carebear. That included most of the major alliances back then. Good PvP was far and few as no1 would attack unless they outnumbered you 2-1. I dunno why ppl found it so hard to make money :/ You can mine for a week and gather a billion or 2 which shud sustain you for a months worth of PvP. Of course that was back then, no idea about now, but I can only image it being easier to gather the money for battleships..
