I'd have to agree with the topic creator, Yes *Crysis* graphics Are superior to console games. But are they godly or as I've seen posted *atleast 2 generations ahead of consoles* Nope, not even close. Huge environments, destructibility, high details on character faces, scenery etc, yes it does have. But again, are they CG quality with absolutely NO imperfections, not even so much as a single *jaggie* perhaps a hint of clipping, etc. No the graphics aren't quite that level.

To set the record straight, my pc is a windows vista, 3 gig, 640hdd with a *phenom processor* as far as the graphics card is concerned, it isn't much as i have done that windows experience index . the grade i got on my card wasn't too up there. i'm not a pc gamer, never have been, but i have seen many on-line videos, screen shots, reviews, posts, forums etc about Crysis and again, it's Not two generations ahead of xbox 360 or ps3, it Is superior yes, but not night and day, sorry nope.

What about 2, 3 or 4 years from now? That will change yes, but as it stands right Now today, it's just simply not. What this really comes down too is *my truck/car is faster, more powerful then yours yadda yadda* my point, just like with pc,consoles. Everyone wants to think or believe they made a decent investment, i mean even the Wii isn't cheap really, people complain about a gallon of gas and the Wii is $249.99 and the cheapest 360 is still $199.99

When you buy a PS3 or a 360 Elite, that's still pretty expensive then there's 60 dollar games, extra controllers a hdtv etc. As for pc upgrades to graphics cards, monitors, sound cards etc, so no matter what you own you want to feel like you have a nice investment and not feel like you have a terribly outdated, underpowered paperweight multi-hundred dollar system. So in closing it Does come down to largely Taste, opinion and such. This is of course My opinion too and as easily as anyone else i could be wrong or right.

I should add that i recently read that both the 360 and ps3 versions of Turok due next year will perform nearly if not identically the same as call of duty 4 did before it.I'm also aware of the gametrailers comparison of assassins creed for both systems and from my take on the HD trailer, the 360 version looks *slightly* more detailed. But as gamespot itself said the graphical differences in both is a "wash". at the end of the day it's probably more about your sdtv or hdtv and the settings/connections you have it at the fully appreciate the visuals no matter what system you have it for

I've been a member here along time but haven't posted in the forums for years literally....anyways. My thoughts on the graphics of Ps3 and 360. Bioshock for 360 looks Stunning in every way really, Halo 3 especially the first level in the jungle and the flood levels are pretty nice as well. Half life episode 2 looks pretty nice as well. Now for playstation 3.

Ratchet and Clank tools of destruction (i rented) looked incredible, just the sheer size of everything and the backgrounds having so many bumpy surfaces and such. Heavenly sword (also rented) a Very short game, but in-game cut scenes were marvelous as was a few battles towards the end with Tons of soldiers on screen at once.

Alright, not for the cross-platform games, the few i have seen side by side. Call of duty 4 looks and plays amazingly on playstaion 3, while i Haven't played the 360 version yet, i plan too (i'm renting both) i did see the gametrailers compairisn and yes the 360 looks to have the ever so slight edge in graphics. But not by any margin then a tiny one. Games with emense scale and size come to mind are Oblivion and looked beautiful on both 360 and ps3 and as it's known slightly better on ps3 due to longer dev time supposedly.

I have heard SO many threads here and other places online about 360's 512 ram and ps3's 256. I'm no tech guy, but with Half the ram of the 360, with an open mind if you think of it, it's Amazing ps3 does as well as it does in games like Call of duty 4 and Oblivion with such limits supposedly.I'm planning on getting Uncharted soon and have played the demo and to me, the textures and overall graphics are beautiful, Full of vibrant vivid colors and shading.

On the 360 horizon i'm looking forward to Ninja Gaiden 2 and Banjo Kazooie 3. Usually graphically Rare really knows how to pull out all the stops in that dept.My point to this is, Both consoles have strengths and weakness's and as it's been said before, Console exclusives for both are Truely where each systems graphical might will shine. Of course all this is my personal opinion and trying to be as unbiased as possible and enjoying having both systems for christmas 07 doesn't hurt either :D
