Its freedom of speach, live with it. Now that I have read this thread though I may blog more just to spite you. Film-Guy
He at no point said that he wanted to hinder freedom of speech. On the same basis he is entitled to his opinion in a free speech enviroment and he expressed it while hoping to find other peoples opinion; yet was responded to in non-constructive posts like yours.

[QUOTE="zakkro"][QUOTE="Sittm2"] It was trivial but that is the point of forums you can respond to and voice your opinion instead of a one way conversation. What was asinine was your post about irony, it did nothing to help this thread except prove the OPs point that people just like to voice their "own" opinion without taking previous statements into any consideration, and posts in what could be seen as a post count buffer.

So I can't just spam whenever I feel like it? This really isn't the best place to start a conversation about blogs.

After quick review of said forum, I can correctly state that yes Off-Topic is the place where one can post about blogs.

[QUOTE="Hoobinator"][QUOTE="zakkro"]This thread is like an iron in that it is iron-y. zakkro
And your post is regurgitated reciprocated tripe. Of which many others have gone before you. If only you guys could read.... This is what's wrong with the world.

Well your post is was trivial and asinine.

a blog is like a thread, just a little more personal. that's the way I see it.DJ-Lafleur
except the idea is that people in a forum share, debate, and discuss ideas.

[QUOTE="Hoobinator"]

Many moons ago I made a vow. I vowed I would never create a personal blog. I vowed I would never post self indulgent tripe on a space dedicated to my own voice. I vowed I would never regurgiate reciprocated information and pass it off as my own. In my head I cling to the idea that the world would be a better place if we all STFU once in a while. Too many opinions paraded around as information. Too much information and data overflow, bogging down society, the individual, for knowledge is power, but a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Who here shares my sentiments, and no I am not an anti-blogger who is secretly a blogger, or a twitter or a mad hatter. I value silence.

And before anyone tells me to blog it, jump off a cliff and if you still live, then feel free to post that reply. And yes there is irony in this post. Feel free to find it.

You raise an interesting point, you should probably write a blog about it. :S Also most "data" and "information" you mentioned actually is actually a form of opinion. At least in my field (history) alot of time there is a dominant belief but often numerous other experts disagree and have a different opinion. IE. Those who believe atomic weapons in WW2 saved lives and those who argue the weapons had little impact. As in the scientific community there are those who argue their data proves global warming and thats their opinion and other scientists argue their data disproves that and their opinion is global warming isnt doesnt exist etc. Although I do respect and understand your sentiment that people treat blogs like a hairdresser conversation. "And how are you today?" "Oh good, great, went to a nice restaurant the other day." "Oh good, how are the kids?" etc

So basically what you saying is you want me to ask how your cats are?

I for once thought that from all the good feedback that a Ben Stiller movie might be funny. I really was disapointed, I wanted it to be good, but it was a poor movie.

I agree with the OP. People always wait for their turn to talk, always willing to give up their personal opinion on a subject, instead of initiating in a coversation. Bloging is just a digital extension of this. They can talk on any matter they like without having to stop talking to listen to other opinions. Basically exactly what im doing here, wow im such a hypocritical as**ole Im not moving the conversation along, not responding to anyone in particular, just voiceing my own opinion on the matter.

Well that is craxy. While his social life can probably use some help, its probably not that bad. Considering him playing 36 accounts at once doesnt take much more time than a normal wow player with one account, because one keystroke does the same thing for EVERY instance of WoW that is up. It probably just took a week to set it up. Also for those those that have to pay "bills and **** 5k is nothing.

Id be willing to bet that this guy has more of a life than a majority of you guys in this thread.
