It's not. Selling it is illegal, but you can make a copy of something for yourself and it's not ilegal.

The argument against reason 1 and 2 is flawed. You don't steal a lamborghini, you make one yourself which is an exact copy to the last detail. And that isn't ilegal anywhere on the world for any kind of creation, unless you then sell it.

Starcraft 2 also has the progamer crowd as a third target audience, and people dismiss it as being a small number but it isn't. Between pros and semi pros and people trying to become pros, theres dozens to hundreds of thousands, and many of these buy several copies of the game for smurf accounts and to play on more competitive regions like korean servers.

There's also the small fact that Starcraft 2 is miles better than ME2.

GT5 got 8 because PS3 games have to live to higher standards than others to get the same rating. Just compare it with Forza 3, there's not a single aspect of GT5 that is worse than Forza, yet it gets low ratings.

The game was GOTY material when it was released, and with all the content and changes its worth double now.

PS3: Metal Gear Solid4. Don't get me wrong, its a really good game, but there are better exclusives on the PS3, I don't get why this is the one to get 10/10.

X360: Halo. All of them. Good shooter gameplay based on a weak engine and storyline, that has pretensions of being epic and just falls under ridiculous.

Wii: SMG2. It's almost the same game as the first, and it got tons of perfect scores for it. If a first party PS3 or X360 title released a sequel to a 10/10 game with the same characteristics, it would get smashed down with 7 to 8 scores. Hell, look at LBP2... it is superior to LBP in every conceivable way, and still got lower average ratings.

PC: Crysis. Mediocre game that got away with it by being 5 years ahead of the competition in terms of graphics.

I also find odd how some reviews will classify the story as awful or terrible, and others consider it extremelly good, and best among FPS'

I am definitely skipping Crysis 2 and most likely LA Noire. Crysis 2 looks awful right now, and LA Noire sounds like Flop of the Year material.

I am 100% getting Portal 2 for the PS3, Brink will kind of depend on reviews.
