@lowdan666 @Skrillbak One more release like this and I'll go full disgusted. The main reason I stayed away from SimCity is I was worried the gaming community gets another terrible launch. I'm gonna go back to playing SimCity 4 now!

I completely understand the reason for having to always be online to combat piracy but every time a launch like this or Diablo 3 happens some gamers are going to shy away from some series & games because of these examples. I have a laptop and travel a bit and am not always able to get internet access in certain areas and because of that there are games I just can't buy because I can't stand the hassle. I'm hoping that launches like this make publishers and developers think about alternatives to always online.

This being the first time I've ever seen Thief in action makes me ask about the technology. Is it some sort of magic powered technology? The Moss Arrows Danny mentioned and the street lamps are confusingly cool.
