Do you have the warranty? If so don't even both with it. If you find yourself playing one game all the time. Such as getting addicted to COD4's online. Then just install the game onto your hard drive so disc doesn't have to be moving. It helps decreasing the chance of the system overheating. You can hear just how much quieter it is.tomizzo
another question... i heard that if you install a game onto your hard drive, the back fans dont spin which can keep some heat in. when you install a game onto your hard drive the disk drive doesnt spin which will reduce heat. which one do you think will generate the least heat, and is the logical way to play a game to reduce as much heat as possible. im not concerned about the noise. i just want to make sure that my xbox 360 doesnt RROD

The xbox 360 has fans built in which blows the hot air out and away from the console. Companies are making small external add-on accessory fans that blow air into the xbox 360. isnt this keeping the hot air in and not letting it escape. this could cause a higher temperature inside the xbox and cause it to overheat and trigger the RROD, the exact opposite of what the product was intended to do which is to cool your console and help prevent the RROD. any thoughts?

another question.

if i get a rrod in three years and i send the console in to microsoft, will my warreenty be extended to three years again or not? so after the three years if it hasnt broken will i have no warrenty?

thx

My friend got an RROD and he sent the system in to MS and got a new one back in about 2 weeks. They also extended his previous warranty one year longer. He has his console for 2 years when it RROD'd, so he got a new console that was on warranty for 2 years.

also i would check the manufacture date and lot number. the later the manufacture date and the higher the lot number will hopefully ensure that you get the new jasper motherboard.

Everybody is waiting for the new installment of the Jasper motherboards with an all new 65nm GPU and still the 65nm CPU. This new installment should drastically improve the RROD, which many of us xbox 360 owners have experienced. These new motherboards were originally supposed to hit the shelves in September, but where are they!!??
