Don't forget about STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED coming out in the spring!!! That game is going to be "ULTRA BAD"!!! If that's not quality third party publishing, I don't know what is!! No More Heroes is another one, .........and a new Rygar game coming out sometime this winter/spring depending on development progress. Do a little more research there, bub!

Personally, I welcome added protection such as this! When you have a plethora of kids that play on the game system, the protective thingy-jacket makes you feel a little better about....what if the controller goes flying through the air? You can't rely on the straps! I had to get onto my son, just the other day because he was Wii boxing, didn't have the strap on, and then I heard the loud crack sound of the controller hitting the coffee table! Its just too difficult for some kids to remember to put the strap on. a I do monitor the kids while they play, however, there are times like when I gotta go to the can or something! Can't always, every single minute watch to make sure they are doing like they are suppose to, there will always be that one minute that you didn't watch and then BAAMMM!! the controller goes flying through the air!! Or hits the coffee table!! Bring on the Jackets!!

Pelican makes a product that is a VGA converter, but it is for composite cables, to which I was using on the cube. You hook up the composites, and then hook up the converter to the monitor, and the computer. I personally, have had my Wii hooked up with the converter to a Dell 19 in. monitor! So to answer one of the questions in this post, Yes, looked pretty good to me! I would say it looked better on the 19 in. computer monitor, vs. the 36 in. television it was hooked to. But that also depends on the video card you have also, I presume. I'm sure also they make a component cable to VGA converter as well.

I've noticed that certain sites work for video, and others do not. But so far, the main sites I go too, do work. But for the most part, I don't use the internet channel, unless my computer is being used by someone else and I need to get online for a good reason.

Wow,......I guess, there are a lot of people out there that couldn't let go of the Revolution name! "Old Wii Box" is what I named mine, I just couldn't shake the need for some originality.......sad thing is it took me several hours to decide on it. But it has stuck, since Nov 19th 06!!

Interesting.....I was just discussing this topic in another post thread.......anyway. Depending on your TV, it is more than likely shrinking the picture for the games that were native 4:3 to preserve the aspect ratio, and resolution. So in order to stretch the 4:3 games to 16:9, you will probably have to check in the settings of the TV to see if it is "automatically" fitting the picture to the aspect ratio programmed into the game. Basically, if you have a game that was programmed in 4:3, and are trying to view it on a native 16:9 tv, and you haven't changed the settings to stretch them.......you get what you got. And in doing the whole stretch option you have to be aware that the resolution does jagged out a bit. So in closure I will reiterate, TVs differ from each other, but I would think, viewing a 4:3 source on an HD, unless the TV is set otherwise, would default to showing the black bars on the sides.

Hope this helps......Later

Okay it just hit me..........check out to see what mode the TV is being used in (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, etc), believe it or not this could make a difference, especially if you have the mode set to view a 720p, or above source. You would think that it would'nt matter, but it does and here is how. My brother-in-law and I were having a similar issue with his 360 and his HDTV while trying to play Halo 3. If you are trying to play the Co-op mode on Halo 3, on certain HDTVs, the XBox will automatically shrink the picture to try to preserve the resolution, and default aspect ratio. So to remedy this, we had to change the TV mode to 480p, which in the beginning it was set to 720p. How this is relevant to your situation is the fact that it is a Toshiba LCD, and not a Sony LCD. So the Toshiba is basically not automatically optimizing the picture, probably due to the default settings. So there's a possible theory, and of course it is hypothetical. So trial and error is in order, you would think that the TV would be able to upscale the signal to prevent this from happening. If it don't work, I'm sorry, and wish you the best.

And you say you definitely changed the Wii settings over to progressive scan? Truth be told all HDTV's are not alike in how they upscale a 480 picture. So yeah, it could also be the TV you have currently. If you haven't had the TV very long, take it back, and ask them to hook up a Wii with components to see how the next one looks. That's what I would do! Plain and simple, if they want to make a sale, make them earn it! Give the TV the ultimate test of upscaling a 480 signal!
