Alright, sorry about the delay, the hubby surprised me with a weekend get away, that well, lasted into the week, so here is the alternate ending. You can decide which is better, and I am tired, so I am not going to put the links up to the previous chapters, so if you are new (which is unlikely) just go down one blog, they are all there. Since we left, I haven't even gotten to watch the finale yet, so this is still untainted by reality, which I am sure will not be wrapped up as nicely, cause you know how they hate happy endings in the Sci-Fi/Drama sector of the entertainment industry. Alright, I warn you, this is the ending I scrapped, so be nice if it totally sucks...(starting right before the resolution)
Oh, and I use the f-word in this versionÂ
Â
John: NOOOOOO! (Dean ignores him and launches himself at the shield, out of nowhere, a bright white light fills the house, as the light fades, we can hear the crackle of the fire burning down the town.)
FADE TO BLACK
RESOLUTION
(The camera pans in from the window, where Sam is leaning against the wall, and Dean is on top of the YED, both are motionless, and John and Bobby are looking at Dean in horror. Suddenly Dean starts to stir, groans in pain and rolls over and thumps off of the YED onto the floor)
Dean: Ugh, Damn, that hurt a lot more than I thought…dying sucks...(Looks over at John and Bobby, he looks scared) Oh, no….(Thinking he killed them all, then he realizes that he is not dead as he looks around and he is still in the cabin in Ghost Town). What the hell?
(Sam looks at him, and suddenly remembers the details)
Sam: Oh my God, I knew that was familiar. In my ancient artifacts cl@ss at school we learned about protection charms and your necklace is a cl@ssic design to ward off evil. The symbolism, I don't know why I couldn't put my finger on it before, it is designed to protect the wearer from all elements of evil protection charms. (Flashes to a picture of Deans' necklace).
Dean: I knew I liked this thing for some reason, hey Sammy, a little quicker with the memory next time would be-
(The YED throws him HARD against the wall, cracking it, and knocking Dean close to unconsciousness)
Sam: (We hear these words, but there is no mouth movement, Sam is communicating with his father with his psychic abilities) DAD! THE GUN! (John looks immediately at Sam, and the camera then closes in on Sam's eyes and he motions to the mantle with them, John nods in understanding when he sees the case)
YED: (Still focused on Dean, he pins Sam against the wall again, with a glance in his direction, John edges toward the mantle, the YED says to Dean) You arrogant little assho|e Who do you think you are dealing with?
(Bobby notices the movement and being a hunter, starts to transition to John's previous spot, and raises his shotgun, and shoots the YED, but this doesn't phase him, just makes him more mad, and he throws Bobby against a different wall, which Bobby crashes through, shaking the already weakened foundation of the cabin, the YED seems to forget about John)
YED: (As he turns back to Dean, with rage in his eyes and voice) Dean, do you want to die, cause that is what is going to happen if you don't stop pushing me. I was going to spare you, being that you are no real threat without your precious family, but you are walking a thin line here….
Sam: (Psychically as before, but this time to Dean, because the YED is weakened from losing the protection charm, he cannot block this communication as he did before) Piss him off if you have to Dean, just distract him. (Dean Looks at Sam with fear, not really understanding, but the YED thinks this is a reaction to the threat he has made, so he continues)
YED: Yeah, that's right, I am going to kill all of your family, and everyone you ever loved. I am even going to go take care of that Jo girl, and that girl, the first girl you trusted with your secret…..(Dean gets another look from Sam, figures it out, and looks at the YED pained) yeah, that's right…I know about her, I know about them all, see, Sammy is not the only special one in this room. (He lifts Dean up, and slams him again against the wall, sneers in satisfaction when Dean groans) Oops, sorry big brother.
(John has made it over to the mantle while this is happening, and gets the case, but doesn't want the YED to see, or realize, so he continues to go behind the YED out of his sight line, then starts to open the case, and load the gun, as slowly as possible so that the YED doesn't hear)
YED: Now, you may have just PISSED ME OFF enough to kill you all, cause who knows, I mean, there is a good chance you are not all going to the same place, I mean you are not exactly squeaky clean are you Dean?
Dean: (Looks the YED straight in the eyes, knowing what he has to do, finally) Fu(k you.
YED: (Thinking it is a ploy of a different kind) Oh, Dean, I am not that stupid, you are not going to piss me off so that I do it quick, I am going to enjoy this, because even though you are not a big threat, you have been a bit of a pain in my ass lately.
John: (Finally gets the gun loaded, and brings it up, and aims) Hey, you yellow eyed son of a bi+ch put my sons down.
YED: (Throws Dean straight down, hard busting the floorboards) Oh, was that to hard John? (He turns around to confront John, and as he does, we see the POV of the YED, looking straight down the barrel of the Colt and the camera zooms in fast, and into the black barrel of the gun, John doesn't hesitate, and shoots, the screen explodes in fire from the shot, and the camera pans out, we see the same kind of death that the other demon that was killed with the Colt experienced, Sam slumps to the ground, and Bobby groans, shifting the debris over him, getting up, Dean is still motionless on the ground nearly buried in the floor).
John: Sam, you okay?
Sam: Yeah, a lot better now though. (They smile at each other, then they both look at Dean, and their smiles fade, John rushes over to Dean, and Sam tries to get up, but falls)
John: Dean! (Starts removing debris, and pulling up the floor trying to clear a space, still nothing)
Sam: Come on, Dean. (Makes his way over crawling, and starts tearing up the floor with John to get him out, Bobby painfully makes his way over too)
John: Dean-Dean, wake up, get up son…
Dean: (Weakly) Geez, what did somebody die or something. (Opens his eyes)
Sam: Dean! Don't ever do that again!!
John: Glad to have you back son, now let's get a move on before this whole house falls down around us.
Dean: (As John pulls him up, and Sam and Bobby get up also, he looks at the YED who is face down under some rubble) He's dead right?
John: Yeah, he's dead, for good this time. (Shows him the Colt, and the spent bullet casing, they all turn to walk out now, and at the door, Dean pulls out his lighter, and sets a piece of the dry wood that splintered in all of the fighting on fire, and tosses it into the room, and the floor and wall it lands by immediately catches fire, Bobby, Sam and John look at Dean skeptically)
Dean: Hey, like you always taught me, you can never be too careful. (They start to make their way towards the gate of "Ghost Town" that is still burning down all around them, Dean is being held up between John and Bobby who has regained his strength, and Sam is limping to the side of John) Where did you learn that little trick Sammy?
John: That could come in handy down the road, where did you learn that?
Sam: I didn't really, I just…did it, I don't know there was this moment, and I could just hear your thoughts, so I concentrated on connecting with that.
Dean: (Rolls his eyes) Aww, enough with the Saturday Morning special, that freaky vision mojo you got going on helped I'm sure.
John: Hey, whatever it is, I am glad it kicked in when it did, thanks Sammy.
Dean: Yeah, but next time, maybe you could distract him, and I can do the Vulcan mind meld or whatever.
Bobby: (Looking very confused) What in the hell are you all talking about?
(They all three look at Bobby, and smile)
John: Come on Bobby, we'll tell you on the way to the hospital.
(The camera pans out, as they leave "Ghost Town" behind still blazing making their way toward the Impala)
FADE OUT TO BLACK, ROLL CREDITS
I went with the other ending, because I thought this one was to much exposition, and stage directions, and had a lot of holes, and I actually liked the banter at then end of the other between Sam and Dean. Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!!!
