What I am is indifferent, not upset. I don't need to be tied to one corporation or another to know AMD is pathetic (with the exception of their GPU line).

Yet your either ignore or dont know the fact that Intel prevented AMD from coming with a brand new architecture on the cpu front for years because they bought all patents related to cpu new and standardized tech. So from 2006-2011 AMD had to reuse what they had and could use/create not allowed to advance at the same rate. Even with Bulldozers being a failure in most people's eyes AMD was thinking too far ahead in its design with its multithreaded module design which does not work to its full potential in a limited multithreaded world.I didn't ignore anything. When it comes to patents between the two, there's so much cross-licensing going on that they've effectively called a truce in that department so one doesn't step over the toes of the other. Who's responsible for X86 in its birth form? Intel. Who's responsible for X86-64? AMD. Both technologies, coupled with countless others brew to make the CPU's that come out today so arguing about patents is a moot point in this case. What Intel did do though, is strong arm AMD by using major suppliers like Dell and through economies of scale, gave them incentives to pick their products over AMD's during the Athlon era. That's where they had to settle for over 1 billion dollars. Aside from that though, all quiet on the western front.
AMD is second tier compared to Intel when it comes to CPU technology. This isn't even an opinion. It's fact now. Trying to counter this using other means of debate is pointless in my eyes. Fact: Intel has better IPC for nearly every CPU out there. Fact: Intel has a superior fab process right now. Fact: Intel blows AMD out of the sky with better thermals per square mm of die. Opinion: AMD sucks.
I find it highly comical that these idiots used Intel CPU's in an earlier GPU benchmark demonstration. What does that say? When the company uses a direct competitor's parts to promote its own GPU's? Unrivaled idiocy. Like I said, their CEO is retarded beyond belief, actually coming out and saying they're throwing in the towel when it comes to high end. That's not something you do. Do it behind closed doors at the board meeting but don't publicly come out and state it, hurting the company's stock even more by souring investors.
A lot of AMD's problems can be attributed to their inept management. Hector "Ruins" Ruiz, who was an even bigger colossal moron than the present guy; Dirk Meyer, who was probably too much engineering and not enough business and so they canned him because they didn't know what the hell they were doing, and now Rory Read, a clueless puppet for the brain dead board to act on their behalf.
