[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]Dated Hardware:
If SMG and MP3:C can look amazing, I dont care. Developers aren't putting effort. SMG has proven that Wii game can look visually stunning.Super Mario Galaxy looks good for a Wii game, as well does Metroid Prime 3... but Amazing is stretching it, Haziq. Of course, maybe you don't own a PS3, gaming PC or an Xbox 360 -- hence why your views could be skewed, but there are even Xbox games which have better graphics than what the Wii has -- Xbox games in even HD 720p and 1080i, something in which the Wii can't attain.
Worse online than PS2:
Well, this one is just plain wrong. Yes, online is limited, but its def. better.But Wii codes still suck. :P
Worse graphics than GC:
Again, wrong. Although it doesn't have a big jump, compare SMS beside SMG and you'll see a big difference.Maybe. But it still can't beat the original Xbox.
No Third party support:
It has a lot of potentially great exclusives coming out. A lot of new IPs, so no one knows really if they'll be amazing or not. Though a lot have very good ideas behind them like Little King's Story and De BlobI wouldn't get my hopes up for upcoming Wii games. The Wii is going the route of the gamecube with the massive game droughts.
Targeted at kids and casuals:
Same can be said about PS3/360. Both have appeal to both audiences. Wii has more appeal to those two, which isn't a bad thing. The only people who complain about this are elitists who feel that anything that is mainstream is automatically ruining the industry and bad.Xbox 360 and PS3's main demographic are not the casual gamer -- there's games which appeal to them; however, games like Halo 3 are aimed at the hardcore. Besides, the casual gamer on the Xbox 360 is different from the casual gamer on the Wii. The Wii's main demographic is the non-gamer/casual. Saying otherwise would be rediculous. That's who they target, with their marketing and their games -- again, saying otherwise is just plain denial.
Maybe you don't understand Haziq, why gamers such as myself feel threatened by the Wii's popularity; it's all simple really. You have two products, game casual and game hardcore -- casual outsells hardcore by 10 times, and because of this... more casual prooducts are made and more attention is focused on the gamer which doesn't take it seriously, the gamers who have been with Nintendo for the long run, are now almost being ignored -- thrown aside to make room for the money making casuals. This is all business Haziq, and when you have a product which is making you billions, you're going to make more of than product.
Wii Music:
People will enjoy it, so why do you care? not everyone has to be hardcore.Again, this shows what Nintendo is truly caring about now. Who will win in the end? Nintendo. Not the gamers.
Poor Value:
The Wii is a video game console. It is not trying to be a super computer like the PS3 or a multimedia device like the 360. That is nintendos philosophy, deal with it.Hard to argue with that one, you basically agreed with him. After all, at LAUNCH Nintendo made over $100 off each Wii sold -- you know, when manufacturing costs are at its apex, I can't even imagine how low costs much be now. Nintendo's Wii isn't worth the $250.00 -- Nintendo is selling an overpriced console, but the consumers don't see that --and frankly, they don't care either, sad really.
First Parties wont interest anyone above 12:
Again, so wrong. Many people who play Zelda are old school gamers. Many people who play casual titles like Animal Crossing are older female gamers.Many children play the said games as well -- Nintendo's games are similiar to cartoons, they're aimed at the younger audience, easy to understand and get into, but adults can watch them too.
Gimmicky Motion Controls:
The only gimmicky motion controlled game I've played is TP(first parties). Others have used it very effectively like MP3:C or Zack and WikiWii's controller is the main selling point -- it's the gimmick.
