Well, for one the mayans already predicted the end of the world in 2012, and November 2012 will see the release of the 2nd part of Twilight: Breaking Dawn which will be the catalyst that triggers armaggedon.

Here i thought they just figured they had enough time to make a new calendar. I hope if you do believe in religion, that you believe in the mayan gods. Because to believe 2012 is coming is to acknowledge that the wisdom that the mayan's were influenced by is the true religion. Just saying.
