Makes sense.  It looks just how a sequel on current consoles would look, and the improvements seen don't really seem to have to do with being on the Wii U.  So they just chose to run the game in 1080p instead of 720 and really making use of the Wii U's extra power for detail.

I don't agree at all. Even the source's follow up says that the performance difference mostlikey won't mean a damn. He even says the 360 is more powerful than the PS3 (I don't agree with that).

So, for someone to post a topic saying "Developer says PS4 50% more powerful" is misleading - the source clarifies his point, but most cows are just running with the "50% more" line and acting like the PS4 v XB1 is the same as PS3 v Wii. It's simply not true.
