The thing is that you are taking an extreme and making it into a norm. There are as many church going folk that accept gays. When you have a situation such as the one you highlighted, keep in mind that it's mostly out of frustration than bible talk, especially if it's an only child. Parents see this as a halt of their future plans. Most parents want their kids to have kids so a sense of legacy lives on. Sure, you can say there are ways that gay people can have babies but to a parent, it's just not the same.
Homosexuality and it's issues within society goes even deeper than what I stated and even goes deeper than church and religion. You simply can't paint it as a black and white because it's simply more than that.Â
Again, they r Catholic; who ever heard of an only child to Catholic parents... they have 5 children...

The Bible contradicts sometimes and thats why they probably did it. It says its a sin ot be gey but then again it says you should respect that choice so I dont understand really (in the process of choosing religion). But I could feel their pain both as a Christian and a human, you have a child to put your lov and knowledge into, but you also do it to carry on your name or blood line and it must hurt to know your love,knowledge, and bloodline stops there.
Um, they are Catholic, ie they have 5 kids; their bloodline isn't stopping anywhere soon... there's 4 other kids to help reproduce...

you can say the same about rapists, or murderers or child molesters, but i dont believe god made em that way, he gave us free choice but he didnt make murderers. How do homosexuals affect u or society in any way?? Pedophiles, rapists, and murderers affect society in a negative way; homosexuals do not.. I wish there were more gay men; there'd be more choice of ladies for us hetero men...
