So long as people still love playing checkers, chess, and card games I'm sure it won't.

This is very true and very sad. Rallisport Challenge 2 is a perfect example. This is one of the best racing games ever made, period, and there's nobody to play with online.:(

It's not all bad, I can still easily find games in Counter Strike, and Halo 2, but most games have kind of fallen off.

It seems to me that Microsoft would do well to abandon there pay to play philosophy, because that's what's killing the older games like Rainbow Six 3, Rallisport 2, and NFL 2K5.

35 million Xbox's sold, and who's going to pay $50 a year to stay onboard.

Xbox Live Silver members count as members, so I don't think there's actually very many Gold members.

I guess it makes sense as to why most Xbox Live games loose support. Either people move on to the next best thing, or they abandon Xbox Live all together.

Years later after his announcement so far the only thing we've seen is a a picture of a guy with terrible taste in clothing holding a flashlight. Yet it gets non stop hype from the lemming community.

Why?

PS_Family

I'm sure somebody has answered this, but they did announce that Alan Wake was pushed to a 2009 release. Same thing happened to Borderlands, Brothers In Arms 3, and Battlefield: Bad Company. It all comes down to giving each game a chance at market. So while Nintendo wants to go head to head with GTA4, usually games need a window of opportunity to sell.

There are too many high profile 360 games coming down the pipe. Fable 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Gears Of War 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Halo Wars, GTA 4, Soul Calibur 4, and Unreal Tournamant 3.

Add to the fact that SSBB is out, and other high profile games such as Mario Kart Wii, Resistance 2, MGS 4, GT 5, and Killzone 2 all come out this year. If Banjo 3 and Resident Evil 5 hit this year, then that just adds to the pile, and I'm sure I've forgotten others.:P

It seems to me Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo just want to make sure that their games have the best chance to succeed.

Lord knows I could do with some pushed back releases, because I don't have the time for all these amazing games this gen!

Besides, we'll get a better Alan Wake for it.:)

This is going to be a great spring/summer, and GTA4, MGS4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, SSBB won't hurt.:)

Shooooot, I leave that thing on all the time.

When the Halo 3 beta was going, I left it on for 3 strait days until Bungie figured out how to kick us.

My launch 360 is a tank, and nothing can stop it.

I'm not worried about the RROD, I'm worried that I'll burn out the laser.

Here's what a girl might say when you invite her to your home, dorm, or private jet:

IF YOU ARE A PS3 OWNER:

Hmm. Your console is the most powerful on the market? Wow, that's so cool. It plays Hi-Def games? That's nice. But I don't like games.

What? It plays Hi-Def movies, too? You got some cool stuff here! It plays Blu-ray movies? Aren't Blu-ray movies the best Hi-Def versions on the market? Awesome. Did I tell you I LOVE movies? I really want to see what a Blu-ray movie looks like...Hmm, it does look a lot better than Standard DVD.

I had a pleasant time watching that awesome movie with you. I am glad you have that machine. You can use it to play games when I am not with you, and you can watch a movie with me when we hang out. Have fun playing your games. CALL ME, Okay? Bye:)

IF YOU ARE AN XBOX 360 OWNER:

Hmm. Your console plays Hi-Def games? Wow. That's so cool. But I dont' like games.

What? It plays Hi-Def movies, too? HD DVD movies? Isn't HD DVD pretty much a dead format? Yeah. It sucks to be stuck with with something obsolete. What movies do you have? Hmm. Sorry, I don't want to see any movies you have. The selection is so small. Do you have a Blu-ray player? There a a lot of movies in Blu-ray I want to see.

Well, have have fun playing your games. Bye:)

IF YOU ARE A WII OWNER:

Hmm. That looks so simple and fun! Can I try? I like it. It's fun. I like movies more, though. You have any movies here? DVD movies? You know there is a format called Blu-ray that's better than DVD? You do? How come you don't have a Blu-ray player? It plays the best verions of the movies! You should get one. I like your console though. Thanks for letting me play your games. I think I like the Wii. Bye:)

AFTER MEETING ALL THE OWNERS:

Hmm. All the guys seem so nice. But that PS3 guy must be pretty well off, having the most powerful console on the market that can also play the best versions of the movies, too. I am definitely more impressed with that PS3 guy. Hopefully he'll call me so we can cuddle at his place and watch another Blu-ray movie.

nogginkl

Pfft, this whole thing is backwards. Girls try to do everything to impress the guy, and they don't have the first clue about Hi-def content.

A DVD is just a DVD to them.:|

[QUOTE="Spartanx23"][QUOTE="GunSmith1_basic"][QUOTE="Weapons_Free"]PS1 had a far larger variety. Nintendo had its amazing first party games like always, but not much else. The PS1 had just as many amazing games (across far more genres) and had far more solid/great games.

It killed the N64 for a reason...

GunSmith1_basic

the reasons:

-it launched first, with a 2 year lead. At what cost? Probably the most defective hardware since everything atari did after the 2600

-third parties hated cartridges

-it was easy to pirate games for it, which helped it become popular

for all those reasons, the ps1 wedged itself in and could not lose. There was a flood of software to the system

Yeah, a flood of garbage software.

lol, i agree. the n64 had the better games. I didn't notice the droughts as much as a lot of people because I wasn't an early adopter and I spent A LOT of time with the games. I spent hundreds of hours on goldeneye, I'm sure.

Goldeneye 007 smacks around the entire PS1 lineup easy.:D
