I have a few things to point out regarding the last round of your quiz.

1. I recently played through all time zones of the stage in question (Metallic Madness Act 2), and I didn't see any spinning platforms or "spinning razor blades" anywhere in the level. Those objects are only present in Act 1 or 3 of Metallic Madness Zone as far as I know, so I think you must've somehow confused the acts with each other. I don't think the question deserve to be scrapped though, I think I should get full credit for my many answers.

2. Your question is about who in the original Sonic game YU2 is, and YU2 is clearly listed as the programmer which was Yuji Naka. Moreover, "Yuji Naka" never shows up in the credits as opposed to what you claim in your answer. YU2 shows up under "Program" (which is only the second credit in the order btw) and Yuji Naka was the programmer of the game. So my answer can't possible be wrong.

4. Wait what, you gave DoctorEggman half credit for giving you a random and totally incorrect statement from the game? Anyone could've given you a random incorrect answer if they wanted to! Anyhow, I went and played the 3rd bonus stage in Sonic Spinball again to check the answer, and a different exclamation is actually used for each two scratch bots you destroy in succession. "NAILED!" is used when the first two bots are smashed, for the next two "SCORE MOVE" flashes, "FACED!!!" (which is the answer you picked) only displays for the 5th and 6th, and when the last two go it says "HOG POWER". Therefore this question is invalid, because you're only asking for a single word even though there are clearly 4 different exclamations used when destroying the bots marching around the capsule.

5. I clearly stated 3 Bar = 20 Rings in my answer, not 30. Moreover, 3 Bar's in a single spin actually grants 20 Rings and not 10 as you claim, and Tails pays off 25 Rings rather than 20. sonicphc, do you seriously even know the answers to your own questions?

A minor piece of knowledge: No two slot characters give off the same amount of Rings when you get all three of them, because that would make having them both redundant would it not?

6. This question is a bit unfair, actually. My first answer was going to be "Sun", but I realised that the right answer could also be "Earth" because the Moon (Tails) tags along with Earth (Sonic) as it travels around the Sun (Synonymous to travelling around the globe which Sonic and Tails both does; The world is round and goes in circles, and just like Sonic do with the world, the Earth also rapidly travels around the sun). Now since I couldn't provide more than one answer as your rules limited the option, I had to choose between one of them and went with "Earth" because I thought it fit better and had a somewhat deeper resemblance; the Earth/Moon partner traveling aspect. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that my answer to the question is more correct than yours.

I suspected that the answer you had chosen as correct would be Star because that likening is more obvious and easier to notice at a glance, because the Sun shines brighter above the Moon and the Moon merely reflects a small part of the Sun's rays to the world instead of shining on it's own accord. This symbolises how Tails reflect part of Sonic's light onto the world as a secondary character, instead of shining with his own light. Though, I left this guess and went with Earth instead for reasons stated previously.

Am I right in stating that there were multiple valid answers for this question, even while only one of them was chosen as correct by you?

7. If I understand what you mean, then aren't they both related to Robotnik by first degree? (That's much closer than the "6 degrees" vague relation you inferred, not that I don't get you.)

12. What I meant to say was that all four Chao stats are increased so I was mostly right, but I happened to be unclear in my answer. Also I have read before that Chao's intelligence are affected a small amount by blue animals, is it not true?

Tie Breaker. As far as I know, Sonic does break Newton's Second Law of Motion when rolling, so how is my answer invalid in that case?

Though what I really intended with my answer was to address the 'Conservation of angular momentum' aspect, but I hadn't read about the Laws of Conservation before so I settled for the best I could think of at the time. In this case 'Newton's Second Law of Motion' has a similar function to the Momentum conservation laws, except that Newton's second law isn't specifically made to conserve momentum, but the relation here is still directly implied because the law limits acceleration of momentum instead. As I understand the Second Law of Motion, it's true that Sonic violates it when rolled into a ball because he suddenly gains momentum greater than the applied force (which is especially evident in half-pipes), and thus fits the description of the tie breaker question. I should get at least some credit for a valid answer, if not full because I actually answered the tie breaker question properly.

You're right in that this round's quiz was 'uber' hard, in fact, some of the questions in your quiz were so hard that not even the quiz creator got the right answer to them... Seriously sonicphc, it would be better if you really verified that all the answers are right before posting. Overall though, I must say that those were quite good quizes.

What is all the complaining about? It's easy to beat Final Fortress in less than 6 minutes as both Team Sonic and Dark. Have any of you even considered taking the higher routes through the stage, or looking for a few shortcuts?

I have no idea why you keep calling tha game "fast." I can think of maybe two places where I can run straight through really fast.sonicphc

Shadow is a very fast Sonic game, and anyone who claim that it's slow has instantly proven that they fail at playing the game. Shadow's levels has plenty of sections where you can run really fast, and some especially speedy and fun ones that come to mind are in Lethal Highway, Space Gadget, and Final Haunt along with many smaller segments in most other stages. If you can only think of a mere two places in the entire game to run very fast, then the only thing that proves is that you're much too bad at the game to go fast unless you're on a straight way. It's made obvious that you aren't very skilled at the game, and that along with the fact that you profoundly dislike Shadow is the entire basis for your inaccurate claims and nonsensical complaints. You only want Shadow to look bad because the game's appearance doesn't live up to a for you perfect Sonic game, just like so many other haters out there. You claim that the entire game is bad simply because it has a darker tone thanks to Shadow being the main character, which is just plain dumb especially considering how none complained about the large amount of darkness and cynicism in SA2's story. Well I take it that you simply can't handle Shadow possibly being a good game, but you might have noticed that there are those of us who enjoy playing Sonic games for their gameplay, and doesn't bash good games for stupid reasons.

Oh, and this is a note on something you've said earlier about the guns: I never said the guns were bad for the gameplay. I said they felt dark and a little out of place, but I do believe I have said before (I think in my review, actually) that the control with the guns does flow well. I never said THOSE were bad gameplay design. The levels themselves were just poorly designed. Probably my absoloute least favorite is the one with the bombs.

Oh, and mission design is asninie, too. "Activate all 5 devices, Shadow, and the city will blow up!" Except you're actually destroying the devices to activate them and the city never blows up.sonicphc

Sure thing about the guns, but let me remind you of something at this moment: Only having weapons as an additional gameplay aspect does not make the game more mature as you claim.

Your complaints are clearly exaggerated here, for the overall level and mission designs in Shadow aren't that bad at all. The stages and missions are actually quite good by any standards. At first I also thought that it was a bit strange how the Dark mission in Central City worked out, but that doesn't in any way mean that all the missions in the game are bad just because a single one are. Even so, that mission you refer to is actually very tolerable to perform in game, and your complaint was only about how that one mission objective doesn't make sense. So your example is pointless.

But this topic isn't about Shadow the Hedgehog: The Game. It's about Shadow the Hedgehog: The character.

Pretty much I liked Shadow in SA2, and I liked him alot. And then when he lost his memory AGAIN in Heroes, I was done with him. Instead of playing on Shadow's strengths of likeability, mainly his personality, they figured people would like him for the intrigue generated by his memory loss. WRONG, SEGA!sonicphc

Wait what, so when have Shadow lost his memory before Sonic Heroes? What are you talking about, seriously?

I liked Shadow in SA2, didn't really care about his empty character in Heroes at all, and thought he was decent in his own game.

So you liked Shadow in SA2, but when he lost his memory in Heroes you were done with him? So even if they actually brought back the Shadow you once liked, then he would still be done for you just because of that? See, it's this kind of logic that make people hate Shadow's game without reasonable justification. Why did you take so much offense with Shadow's appearance in Heroes instead of not minding it? And why would you turn to dislike him only because he wasn't himself in one game without a story, if you truly liked the character?

Now see? We were all wrong. You were just as incorrect as me, speed_player, if not more blatantly so.

At least I said "perhaps" instead of stating what I thought his statement meant as fact.sonicphc

Actually I wasn't incorrect, and I didn't really state what his real thoughts were as fact. I only gave you a valid interpretation of what we already knew he had said, I didn't contradict anything that he had said previously to my post, which is what you did. Yes, I was wrong in the end but at least I gave a valid suggestion.

Also if you read the edit history of my post, you would see that I initially started the sentence with "He's evidently telling us". Even if I did remove it, my explanation was still in accordance to what he had already posted.

Difficulty should be raised by making the levels require mroe skill to beat, not loosening up the controls.sonicphc

The levels in Shadow actually do require more skill to beat, and they consist of many parts that are considerable hard to pass. The stages in Shadow are quite a bit more challenging than those in previous Sonic games, and they were intentionally made to be that way. Since they're making an unique and darker Sonic game based around Shadow and his own story, then why not also make it harder while they're at it? Though this is also why the beginners complain so much, because they lack the required skill to play well (and are much too contemptful to acquire it).

The controls aren't loose at all. The common complaint is that Shadow is too fast for them and that they aren't able to control Shadow's movement, both which are the result of inexperience and a serious lack of effort on their part. I mean no one can truly expect to master a fast-paced and difficult game like Shadow when they have only just begun playing it, now can they? This is something that many reviewers simply refuse to believe, for they somehow expect to be able to expertly control Shadow from the outset, which is just down-right foolish.

I already stated a few times, that the gameplay isn't improved. (harder to steer, slow homing attack and triangle jump)DoctorEggman

I agree that the learning curve is harder, but it's not that difficult to control Shadow. It isn't something that's worse about the game because Shadow is meant to be more difficult to play, and it's therefore obviously going to be harder to steer Shadow when he's skating on his air shoes. Now that I think about it, this was my same line of thinking when I first got the game.

The homing attack isn't really slow, nor is the triangle jump. They are only somewhat slower than they were in SH and are still fairly fast despite of that. It isn't that much of a bad point that they are insignificantly slower and provide a bit more control, but I take it that they're slowed down enough for you to dislike them. Could you explain exactly why you think it's a problem? I mean it's somewhat understandable that you dislike the decreased speed, but does it actually make the gameplay worse than previous games?

The word Techinial implies Fact. Best is an opinion. Something can't the "technically best" because a good portion of the fanbase disagrees with you.sonicphc

Let me rephrase my point. Shadow has technically the most solid and glitch-free gameplay, it also has many good features like Hero/Dark Shadow and alignments. Does that look more correct to you?

A good portion of the fanbase also claims that the weapons are totally useless, that Shadow is slow, and that the controls are terrible and nearly impossible to handle. So make of that what you wish.

Oh, and with my "random interruption" you do realize you pretty much agreed with me while contradicting me, right, speed_player? You said he like the other type of gameplay more. That's the point I was getting accross. If he could have one kind of gameplay done perfectly, which would he choose? That's what I was saying.sonicphc

Yes, I do realise that I agreed with your view outside of the context of what he said, and I expected you to notice the apparent contradiction. My point was simply that you had no reason to suggest that view, because it was an erroneous interpretation of what he was trying to say. (Also if he like Sonic 06 more despite of it being worse than SSR, then it's a direct implication that he would rather have that game perfected.)

[QUOTE="Speed_Player"]Shadow is technically the best SA style game made and has nice unique gameplay, yet some people prefer games that are worse than it. Why? Because they like the aspects of those other games more, and the amount of negativity surrounding certain aspects doesn't really help someone with liking the game.
DoctorEggman
Although Shadow is a great game, it isn't the best as far as gameplay goes. Sonic Heroes and Shadow are technically equal. (But in my opinion, Sonic Heroes' gameplay is quite a bit better. yes, I've stated my good reason as to why.)

I have to agree that Sonic Heroes has good gameplay, but one of the main reasons I say Shadow is better is for the absence of glitches. I've had some bad experiences with those in SH (usually when going very fast), while I've had almost none in Shadow.

Shadow: Ooh! Ooh! That sounds like fun! I'll try it in my own game too, but it won't be nearly as good as yours!sonicphc

Never mind that Shadow's game is faster, has an improved gameplay engine, many more possibilities, and eliminated almost all of the glitches that were present in previous Sonic games.

It's a bit strange that I haven't heard anyone mention the slow and pointless cars in the game yet, really...

I am not saying bad things about the gameplay. I'm just saying that the control's are kind of screwy because of how the tilt the Wiimote left the right to move Sonic. Plus the story wasn't bad. That's what you think. I made this topic based on opinions.bigmouthkid

I must say that your writing is kinda dull, also way to blatantly contradict yourself.

[QUOTE="Megablueblastaa"]no. too stupid. i dont like the gameplay, the story, and the whole ideal of sonic getting trapped in a book. its WAY better than the ps3/360 one, but i would rather have the 360/ps3 one than this game.Platyphyllum
You think it's WAY better than the PS3/360 versions but you still say you would rather have the PS3/360 versions. Why?

Perhaps he's trying to say "I'd rather have the 360/ps3 game perfected than a perfect version of this game."sonicphc

While your suggestion may be valid outside of this context, it's not quite the case here. He clearly stated that Sonic 06 is a worse game than SSR as it is, and then said that he like Sonic 06 better despite of that, so your given interpretation is baseless. Sorry, but I couldn't resist picking that apart.

He's telling us that he would rather have a Sonic Adventure style game, with more freedom in movement and a more comprehensive experience with different characters and explorative gameplay. Than a good Sonic game that is on-rails, have bad music and an equally worse story. He only says that Secret Rings is technically better because it's more solid, and wasn't terrible rushed out in an unfinished state like Sonic 06 was.

It makes complete sense to me.

Then why is Team Sonic called Team Sonic when it's about all of the team members? Why not 'Team Heroes?' Same goes for Team Rose.
I'd like to see you wiggle your way out of this one :Psonicphc

Because it's a Sonic game and the main character is indeed Sonic, so it only makes sense to call them by that. Besides, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are all the original team of Sonic characters, and Team Sonic can't be called "Team Heroes" because most if not all of the teams are a Team of Heroes.

Team Dark had it's speed character (who is used the most) as Shadow, so Team Shadow at least makes sense, just like Team rose. [...] Calling it "Team Shadow" isn't 100% wrong because Shadow is on it.sonicphc

Team Dark is called Dark because all of their members are dark characters: Shadow, Rouge, and Omega (who was created by Eggman). Calling it "Team Shadow" wouldn't be accurate as it isn't focused on him alone. Also Team Rose is the best name they could possible come up with for that team, with the addition that Amy Rose is the lead character for them. Not to mention that a load of flowers are seen in Team Rose's Team Blast. It wouldn't be a very good name to call them by "Team Amy" either, because the team isn't centered on her but all of the team members (They are all looking for something). The names make perfect sense to new players.

I believe that covered it.
