as much as i'd hate to admit it, i reckon Halo 3 got hyped more than any game before itdanathjo
Read the topic (and the forum name): the question pertains to Nintendo games.
And the answer is SMB3. It's not really even close, either.
The thing is 92 ro 99% of Halo 3 sales were to existing xbox 360 console owners. Also considering how much the marketing, and having a worldwide release cost I highly suspect they spent far more then they would have ever gained on game sales.
When you spend several hundred marketing you lose big. Halo 3 sales are extremly front loaded and well suffer a drastic drop as well sales of the xbox 360. They spent everything they had for just one month and they barely beat out a supply strained console by 20,000 units.

Don't really even know where to start with the logic in this one. Let's just keep it at "it doesn't belong in a Wii forum, so leave other consoles out of it".
That being said, no we don't know what study the numbers come from (and yes, it's safe to assume it's a study). But blindly accusing the most respected name in gaming journalism of "anti-Nintendo propoganda" is, well, fanboy propoganda.
They got the numbers from somewhere: Famitsu, et al, is about as credible as it comes. You can surmise that it was potentially a word on the street survey, and no really scientifically or statistically significant, but to just say that it was made up whole cloth, and 'yellow journalism', is nothing more than pro-Nintendo propoganda, and nothing better than what you accuse them of.
[QUOTE="Spelunker"][QUOTE="SeanMMA"]This is probably true. Other than Metroid Prime 3 and the occasional round of Tiger Woods golf, my Wii is basically a Gamecube. Do I regret purchasing it? No. The games will come, especially given sales of the Wii. But, the fact remains, the selection of Wii games remains poor AT THE MOMENT.

Pretty much my take. Mine is at my girlfriend's place right now, because she wanted to try out Wii Sports. But there have been long stretches where it hasn't even been hooked up, because the software just hasn't been especially compelling to me. After the ~5ish games I bought at launch, I don't think I purchased another title until MP3.
Guranteed this time in 3-4 months you guys will have changed your tune ;)
I'm pretty sure your 'garuantee' doesn't really mean very much. But yes, there's finally some decent software coming out.

I play over carpet, with an older TV, with no lamps in the room, and I rarely drop the controller. I didn't bother ordering. They look sillly but props to Nintendo for trying their best to make everyone happy.roboccs
It's not about making people happy, it's about protecting themselves from class action lawsuits.
